I am a getting talktalk plus installed on 6th august and I have pre registerd for there youview service so I'm am just wondering on peoples throughts on this and there opinions

I'm with Talktalk but its still early days yet so i agree with what Johnste said you can't really compare them yet until both are fully up and running.

I like the look of the Talktalk packages atm, HOWEVER, which is best depends on what BT come up with and also what the actual individual user is looking for.

Cheers guys I'm new to this forum.I meant to say do you think by vision is best or do you think talktalk with there packages they have announced..would that tempt you or might temp you to contemplate getting there service,I know its early days yet but a lot of people these days are easily swayed

Perhaps that's part of deal with Sky? Sky won't want their customers defecting to Talk Talk if Sky channels can be recorded and in HD for less than through Sky.
It also means that TalkTalk viewers of Sky channels can't skip the commercial breaks.
True,true..I was wondering though with the present talktalk tv previously tiscali if they could record the sky channels and if that's the case why would they stop that now because years ago I had tiscali tv and I think you could record sky channels

They won't fix it. The whole reason for YouView's being is to provide additional ways for content owners to moneterise said content and network operators to moneterise their infrastructure.
Remember, the one year old 'repeat' of today is the ten year old 'classic' that people will pay to view tomorrow.
The YouView partners have no desire for you to record anything. They don't want you to have content stored that you haven't paid for, or worse still, doesn't contain advertising.
All content owners today are working towards the end of PVRs and other recording methods. It might not be the right time yet, but they're working towards it.
The only way you can stop this, is to vote with your feet and ignore YouView completely.

That doesn't make sense let me tell you as a trialist you certainly can record stuff onto your youview box. All be it only freeview channels and ftr there is a fix on the way to enable the 110 - 117 channels and to record channels streaming channels too.
Most stuff will be OD anyway with lovefilm , netflix and various other companies interested in launching apps on the Youview platform.
On your basis we might aswell ignore Virgin media and Sky too right as VM charge a extra £5p/m to use tivo and Sky will charge £10p/m to use Sky+ if you don't subscribe.

We've been told it's on the way as apparantly all freeview boxes (including youview) must be able to recieve the channels such as 110-117 and you will be able to record them. Which should also allow recording of other streamed channels such as Sk1 etc. As soon as i know more if i'm permitted to i will ofcourse keep you all informed.

OK,thanks,yes all Freeview HD kit 'should' be able to see the 'other' IPTV channels if it was released to market since April 1st,2011.
I do wonder though,if anything can be done for the existing Humax/YouView box ref this,can it be done via software,and if not,why should it be in the shops,if it's not up to spec.
