Saving movie in Sony Vegas

Hi.

I've got Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11. I'm new to it and learning the ropes. Watching tutorial videos and such to learn how to use it properly.

I've been practicing how to use the Cookie Cutter tool, in this instance to blur out a name in a video. I watched a very insightful and helpful tutorial, followed it to the letter and it worked fine, previewing the movie in Vegas it all plays back fine however I hit problems when I try to " Make A Movie ".

The footage was recorded with a Canon EOS 600D, and I've tried saving it in different formats but for unknown reasons when I save the movie and watch it back the Cookie Cutter effect is NOT present in the created movie.

Where am I going wrong here, I've followed tutorials about saving/exporting but nothing so far has worked so I've obviously still doing something wrong.

Thanks

Ah problem solved!

Changing the preview settings in Vegas to a better quality led me to discover that the cookie cutter effect settings were not enough to add blur the section of video I wanted it on!

Yeah that's good to know, I'm also new to this program and getting to grips with it... it's not quite as easy to use as Pinnacle Studio but many times more reliable so well worth the learning curve.

I got mine from Amazone for about £35 which I think is superb value (even cheaper if you choose the slightly less specced version)

Never used Sony Vegas Movie Studio as I got the Vegas pro 10, but some features are the same.

Vegas to be honest is a great bit of software, not only is it light on resources for a video editor, it is reliable. The only time it crashed on me is when i was having hardware problems.
