You have got to be kidding me, everytime I see Wolfi having his grubby claws on Eddi and when he's lying to Michael and Sacha to save his medical incompetencies, I wanna throw something at the TV.

That scene is a classic, in fact the whole episode was fabulous as there was a lot of great sexual chemistry and tension you can tell Luc has that 'little boy lost' look. It is a very emotional scene where he is genuinely concerned about that patient and in hindsight, it also states the confusion of the leddi relationship. It is clear in that episode Luc likes Eddi alot and she likes him but they don't know how to handle the dynamics of this relationship. Eddi wants to move forward but is held back when he has his quirky sarcastic moments. She doesn't know how to handle him either.

I thought the other touching scene is when Luc was chastising Eddi for being unprofessional and reckless about her flirting with the patient's brother and you could feel how hurt he was when she replied.

Eddi: he asked me out for a drink, Luc, a drink, that’s it, that's what normal people do when they like each other.
Luc: ok, well thanks for clearing that up, I was just concerned for a minute that you might be preying on the emotions on a very decent man in a vulnerable point in his life but you have completely reassured me thank you.

Luc in turn totally demolished Eddi emotionally in that scene, she was so gutted when he said that.

I also love the last scene when Luc finds out that Eddi is not going out for a drink with Floyd and his attempts to ask her out is hilarious.
Luc: Your shift’s all but over
Eddi: hallelljiah
Luc: I hear your plans for this evening have fallen through
Eddi: Yes
Luc: Would you have any interest for coming for a drink
Eddi: You don’t drink
Eddi looks it him confused and is having a mad moment

Luc: I am sure if they ask nicely they would do me an orange squash or a lemonade
Eddi: well, I thought that you thought that I was reckless and unprofessional
Luc: well, I do, I just thought that you would want a chance put that behind you (in an innocent way)
Eddi: well, I think I’ll take a raincheck then.

Yes,shame really. Although hes not in Sept 4th episode I have a feeling he might return during a Max free episode and then him being completely unaware anything has changed in his absence.

I thought the 'friend' would have been referring to Sacha imo. I do hope its Luc though, it would be a good surprise. These last weeks seem to be dragging abit and didn't JM tweet that to wait a few more weeks before he returns ( to me that means 3 weeks since he said that ).

I do get a sense of excitement by all us that Luc's appearance is imminent.

Sept 18th marks 12 weeks gone.And sept 11th marks 12 weeks since he began filming....so in theory his first episode should be the 1st after 12 weeks..... SO sept 18th?! Got to be!!

I dont think its to do with his character. I just think JM is a funky monkey when it comes to style. He's still hot, thats all that matters!

I was thinking in anthroplogical and spiritual terms. In some asian and middle eastern countries, a shaved head is a form of redeeming oneself, or one has committed a crime, their head is usually shaved.
Maybe I am reading too much into it, perhaps Luc is trying to redeem himself infront of Eddi, by shaving away all what has happened between their fractious relationship. He does lead a very simplistic life oustide the hospital and with his travels to far east and Asia, so he seems very zen-like in his approach to life.

Hope you get what I trying to say here or am I totally confusing you.

In the letters section of next week's Radio Times someone has written in asking about what's happened to Luc. They then have a response from the Holby press office which says, "Luc seems to be the kind of guy capable of vanishing - and reappearing just as suddenly! Look out for his return later this month." So, we know now that he should definitely be back this month! It sounds as if it will be the 18th September or later then.

I'm also wondering about the hair - I know I'll find it a bit distracting when he first comes back! I am still looking forward to his return though...all is not lost quite yet!

Sorry to double post, it won't let me edit my previous post...but I'm wondering if Luc's surname has been influence by Ernest Hemingway?

E. Hemingway has such quotes as, “There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.” which sound rather Luc-like. I don't think we're meant to suppose they're in any way similar but I wonder if that's a vague thought the writers were conjuring up when they came up with the name (I always wonder how they decide on a name!).

The Holby City guys are not giving away any clues of which episode he will re-appear in, they just want to torture us even more, so that means watching all the september episodes. I was thinking maybe 11th september, right at the end of the episode perhaps.

Very interesting, his first name Luc is also an unusual. I wonder if his personality will have changed abit after being away from everyone for so long, just curious.

I wonder what tonight's ep will bring and if there will be any Max and Eddi scenes and any reference to Luc. Prob none to the second part

I hope there are very little scenes with Wolfi and Eddi, I get irritated when I see him, I much prefer Michael and Eddi scenes regarding that pancreatitis patient. Also, looking forward to the showdown between Mo and Jonny.

I more looking forward to the 4th September episode with the drugs storyline.

As a little side-note - I just googled what Luc means and, unsurprisingly, it is a derivative of Luke but just means a man from Lucania. Interestingly though, Luke (as in the one who wrote the Gospel of Luke) is the patron saint of doctors. And there ends my pointless facts of the day
