I think also the thing with Luc is it was completely unintensional, there was genuine hate towards him whereas he actually liked her from day one [my opinion anyway- his first episode he hinted they could share the roof & when she asked for a transfer & she said she couldnt stand anymore of him, she said to him she thought the feeling was mutual, which he questioned & genuinly seemed hurt]

This Max guy I can see chasing after Eddi, whereas Luc just got on with things & it happened naturally. Max, perhaps annoying her in a way she mistakes for the same way her Luc relationship started. Whereas he could just be annoying If you understand me?

Maybe shes the one who see similarities in the start of thier relationship and thinks she could have the same with him what she had with Luc. Almost trying too hard for it, thus realising how much she missed him.

Then boom! He comes to the rescue

You made a very valid point there. I forgot about that bit in the first episode. Yes, he did like her and was willing to compromise and thought she was brilliant at her job. She was quite mean to him at the beginning of their relationship come to think of it. Also, I think she misunderstood his good intentions, like he winds people up but he does it unintentionally and he doesn't know that he is doing it. Its just his weirdness that people misunderstand and he's heart is in the right place though.

With this Max guy, he is not what he seems, he has this charm if you get my drift but is it real ? There there are a few similarities with Luc, the quirkiness but I don't think he has the weirdness of Luc, if you get my drift. I do see your point why Eddi would be drawn to this Max guy. You could tell in that clip.

Yes, that is true, which is unfortunate as I really love Luc.

I am sure it will be more than talking, he's abit more approachable and I think Eddi can read Max better than she could understand Luc at first.

I'm looking forward to next week, my thoughts are that Max will appear to be nice and more of an open book than Luc (all be it still quite eccentric), but he will be a bit manipulative as well, lead Eddi to make a few professional mistakes and then not back her up when she needs it (hmm... i've been there!) and maybe have a bit of an air of mystery that actually hides the fact he's got a wife and kids?!!! What do you reckon? Or maybe Luc has got a secret love child somewhere in Latin America (he he!!) that we (or even he) doesn't know about. Luc might seem aloof, selfish and off hand but he doesn't mean to be like that (and mostly doesn't realise it) whereas I think Max will be entirely different. Do you reckon someone will have had a quiet word about Luc and Eddi to him before his first shift.. oh look forward to next week fun fun fun!

I agree with you about him being abit manipulative. He doesn't look the marrying kind though imho. However, I am always wrong when guessing Holby plots.
Luc having a secret lovechild, thats interesting. He looks the aloof and loner type. I get the impression that he has not had many relationships with a few women or having a one night stand and I can't see him going to a brothel either. He's more in love with his books and gaining more knowledge and travlling.
With regards to Eddi, it was different, she sort of challenged him mentally and that is one of the reasons why he was attracted to her.
I also agree with you about Luc not meaning to be selfish etc, he is quite a good hearted and decent person and he is very well liked in AAU. I am not sure if Luc will come up in conversation but if both Max and Luc are both in AAU, there may be some friction between the two over Eddi though.

I think Max is the sort of person who is going to manipulate peopel too, reckon he'll work his way around people to gets what he wants, and most likely is out for personal gain whilst 'acting' as team player..

No mention of the lovely pair, guess a early September return is more likely...which is what I originally predicted. September 4th, exactly 3 months since he began filming again and 10 weeks he would have been offscreen...but who knows...it could even be later
Chantelle storyline sounds interesting though...and no mention of Max, but there is metion of Michael!

Im also beginning to think there may be a twist like Max knows Luc or something and is just covering him for a wee whiles whilst hes off gallivanting in the mountains which would make is very awkward if he starts a relationship with Eddi

Maybe, Luc may turn up in episode 46, 28th August, or its wishful thinking on my part. That doesn't leave many episodes with him in the last leg of series 14. I presume that he will be a regular in series 15 then.

Well, He first appeared on our screens in November, I read that the contract was for 1 year, so I guess we're guaranteed him until then. Which means he'll deffinatly appear in early series 15, which I believe begins in October.

Seeing as he appeared in November, he must have started filming in August last year. So if he's still filming after August this year, I guess we're to understand he has signed a new contract. However, he did put on his twitter recently that he had just made a tough desicion. So im not hopefull..reckon he may have bailed on us. Hopefully he'll stay!

Yes I reckon he won't be back for series 15 I suspect that he'll be back for the last few episodies of this series and then will leave. I just hope we get to know a bit more about Luc before that happens. There are so many unanswered questions!! The whole security guard's daughter thing keeps bugging me, we never found out any more! Mmm I like the idea that Max might actually know Luc, that would be a good twist. I hope there will be a happy ending for Luc & Eddi, will they both leave together? off travelling to do good medical work overseas together, that would be a nice ending Anyway I hope the wait for Luc's return is worth it and not a bit anti climax, still seems some way off. In the meantime look forward to the next fanfic

Well, that is such a shame if he does leave because his character was only beginning to develop in this series and alot of us fans have invested so much with his character. It takes a good 3 to 4 series for the character to get well developed for an audience. I was hoping for him to stick around for at least until series 16.
As weeziey rightly said, there are still so many unanswered questions about his personal life and his eccentricities and they cannot be answered in 1 or 2 episodes imho as Holby has other storylines going on within an episode, hope you get my drift. If it is a rushed up job, imho, it would not have done his character justice, hope you get my drift here. Thats all. I hope he stays for the whole of series 15 at least. At least we can have more of Luc episodes to reminisce.

I think if he was to leave I would really like it for them to go together, of course thats up to the actors really & whether the writers are willing to loose two characters. To be honest I cant imagine Eddi going back to how she was before Luc arrived, but I can imagine Luc without Eddi. But neither of them would be the character they are now without the other...so I think its a tough one for the writers.

In a radio times interview he said:

“I’m contracted for a year and obviously we haven’t talked about more yet, but I certainly wouldn’t turn my nose up at it. I’m very happy, so we’ll see.”

So am thinking he'd stay if he was offered. Mind you that was months ago

I agree with both of you though when it comes to unanswered questions.

I cant see the point in bringing in such a mysterious character if upon departure we're none the wiser. Well I can see the point, sort of, I just think its irritating, and defying the point of why they chose to make him like that.

Perhaps even if the viewers knew some of the scerets to his mystery and other characters didnt, we wouldnt loose any of the storylines upon his interactions with other characters, but it would let the viewer at least allowing us to understand him more.

At least we have him til November anyway. And even if he does stay, we all know that SJP is a ticking time bomb... Whenever I look at digital spy I expect to see an article about her quitting

I hope Luc doesnt leave soon would be a waste of a good character, alrhough as SJP doesnt stay long at each job it does feel a little like we are on borrowed time with the character Eddi Although i dont want them to leave if they did i would like them to leave together, a happy ending!

Although i love Leddi, i have got use to Eddi on her own, she works well with Sacha and Michael, the new year scenes with Chantelle were good and her and Serena would be good. However apart from Eddi, Luc only seems to work well with Sacha. I think Lucs character needs Eddi but not the other way round.

I agree with liking Eddi on her own. I have to say, forgot what she was like before all the Luc stuff started happening.

I think shes the sort of character you could pair with anyone and it'd be enjoyable. Personally, I know they are few and far between, but I love her scenes with Jac!

I do think the majority of people would rather see them leave together. However, If just one of them leaves, any time another love interest comes along for the remaining one, im immediatly going to hate it.

Its almost, and maybe he was, like the character of Luc was written for a storyline for Eddi as opposed to just a new character and then them deciding to put them together.

If they dont get written out together, I'd rather one of them dies.. so the leaving of the other wasnt intentional. I hope its Eddi... [Only because we've seen what the absence of Luc does to Eddi, so I'd like to see how Luc would cope with it to be honest]

But obvioulsy, they're going to live happily ever after, so we need not worry
