New Ellie Goulding album - Halcyon!

I don't know if there's already a thread on this, but I'm just so excited! Been waiting forever!!! Ellie is one of the best singers to come out of British music.

The album's out October 8, just eight days after my birthday. I guess it'll be a late gift for myself. :3

Woo! Finally an album I can get excited about!

2012 has been a terrible year for albums I think. The only ones I've bought and liked are Lana Del Rey, Nicki Minaj and Marina & The Diamonds. Buzzin for Rita Ora's and now this

Unfortunately for me, I don't live in the UK. It sucks.

Love Ellie and her first album. Have been waiting eagerly for more. October can't come soon enough and I hope the release date won't be suddenly pushed back - happens far too often these days.

I hope so too. But I sure am jealous of everyone living in the UK. You and your special special editions. >

Don't think so, track list hasn't been announced/revealed yet. And gawd damnit, I'm so annoyed I can't order the special edition. I don't like Universal.

Oh yeah silly me I forgot about that haha! Itunes do need a good bit of info before they put their pre-order up

So... Ellie released a "trailer" for Halcyon, with a snippet of the lead single "Anything Could Happen", but also, supposedly, a couple of other songs. I already love them, seems heavier in sound than Lights.

I was worried about Skrillex's imput but it seems to have helped rather than hindered i really like her direction keeping in line with lights but pushing it in a heavier direction like the dark to the Lights (bad i know )

Exactly. Personally though, I don't mind Skrillex or his music, but I'd frown a little if the whole album was full of wub.

Not too keen on that trailer. Without song titles for cues, the songs just bled into one another like a nameless, directionless sequence of randomised sounds interspersed with her chirpy voice. The only one that really stuck was 'Anything Could Happen', which sounds all kinds of amazing - similar to 'Believe Me' or the re-worked version of 'Lights', where the song sort of lazily but reliably plods along in buzzing, up-tempo trippy-ness.

I quite enjoyed some of 'Lights' and even 'Bright Lights', and so I expect a bit more from Ellie with 'Halcyon' - it's the perfect album title really. Suits her voice and music style really well.

I liked some of the first album though it was hard to get into. I like her style and if she produces similar songs to Lights, Starry Eyed and Guns & Horses I will be happy, or even if she chooses to go down a more acoustic route, that would make Halcyon an album on my wish list along with the new albums from Rita Ora, The Killers, Pink and Noisettes

The tease of Anything Could Happen didn't excite me at all, but the rest of them sound okay. Can't wait to hear her new album though, big Ellie fan.

No because I like Lady GaGa.

How awkward for them.

She's definitely built up her fanbase! Helps that she's such a nice person and is always on Facebook and Twitter giving us updates on her life and career. Best of luck to her and I love how the album sounds - a little reminiscent of Nelly Furtado's evolution as an artist in terms of its experiemental pop sound!

Very exciting.

It's funny how I don't live in UK, and therefore will have to wait until someone records the song or finds a leaked version and puts in on Youtube. Damn you Brits and your adorable artists. >

With the current success she is having in the US i can't see you waiting long for a release date she would be stupid not to ride the crest of this current wave of success Florence's release wasn't too long after by which time music will inevitably leak online.

I'm waiting for a tracklisting i want to see if there will be a deluxe (probably) and whether it will be extra tracks or acoustics i like Ellie stripped back can really appreciate her voice.
