No other boxes have problems with olympics? (Echostar HDS-600RS)
Well while the Foxsat can't record (somewhat of a pain) my Echostar HDS-600RS pretty much can't do anything. Surfing though the olympic HD channels is neigh on impossible, using the red button is horrendously sluggish, and either method usually results in a black screen, channel off air, or sometimes even the picture with a "this channel is off air" slapped right through the middle of it.
I wonder if there's ANOTHER (or several) freesat specified feature that Humax and Echostar neglected to put into their software..... |

And here. Recording, viewing and the new guide category.
Haven't used the red button at all. |

My relative was horrified when it didn't seem to work as advertised - but that's because she was putting the Echostar Freesat box on channel 301!
"I was only doing what they told me to" she said, so there must have been some Freeview-specific advice broadcast at some point (not that I saw it). When I sent her to 151 on the freesat EPG, she was amazed. It's all working very well on her HDS600. Recording, live pause, full 24 channel EPG, and the red button menu of sports (from BBC One/HD or on channel 150). I love the Freesat 24 HD Olympic screens. None of the soap-opera style life-changing stories and interviews that you find on BBC One HD - just whichever sport you want to watch, complete and without interruptions. Good commentary on the ones I've watched too. Real enthusiasm for the sport, rather than just for Team GB. Cheers, David. |

What if you access them via the Red Button menu as they are designed to be?

Why, works fine here
?I have a cheapo skybox F3 that's working fine on the same dish (albeit with no red button or EPG) |

Interesting. On mine if you surf, it hangs at most channels, won't do anything for >30sec, then will either leave a black screen and allow me finally to change channel to something else, or display "channel off air" sometimes even with the picture in the background.

Update (didn't realise there was ANOTHER one after the no series-link fiasco), factory reset - still the same. Surf channel 151, box freezes for a while, then proclaims channel is off air. 152 the same, 153 fine.
That was this afternoon. Just tried it now and all seems fine, except that the red button is still painfully slow. Frankly it's embarressing that freesat and their hardware partners can only churn something out that is about half as good as 10 year old Sky boxes. |

Your box must have been telling you there was an update every day for the last 25 days... http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showp...9&postcount=38 Cheers, David. |
