Definately not blackberry as they are going down. Not a apple lover so it would be HTC (android) for me

If you're just asking which brand people prefer, then you've missed out at least one important one.

If you're asking which phone you should get, you'll need to be a little more specific - if you're comparing, say, an entry-level Blackberry or HTC handset to the iPhone 4S, there's simply no contest for example, regardless of people's personal opinions about the various OSs.

HTC. I've been using their phones since 2003 and they've never let me down.

that will soon test your loyalty

Mine runs fine. Don't believe the (negative) hype.

I've never had a HTC so I'm going to go with Apple.

I like all HTC phones but the One X has put me off. Only if they redeem themselves with a good next gen phone will i consider going with HTC again.

My husband had an HTC Desire. It was okay but the battery was rubbish and HTC won't support upgrades for the OS. So he was stuck with Android 2.2. He rooted it and put 2.3 on it, but it seems really difficult to get Android 4 or 4.1 on it. I'd be very happy to give Android a go if I knew that the handset was able to update the OS.

I have had an iPhone 4 for about 18 months. It's fine.

You are comparing phones that are from different generations.

All vendors are eventually going to stop supporting new is on older models, HTC still release updates for the Desire, got one the other day.

I agree with you about battery on the HTC. I have an HTC Desire S and the battery could be better. Also I find in weak signal areas the Desire S can sometimes suffer from signal drop outs. My sisters friend has a HTC Widefire S and although her signal seems better than mine the wi-fi on the Wilefire S is crap depending on where you are,
So going the Desire S and the Wildefire S my vote would not fully be for HTC.
Cant say about blakburry as never used them.
I know some that have an iphone not the 4gs but the 3 or 3gs and they seem very happy with them.
if I was to get another phone and im in no hurry to get one. Im not sure if itr would be another HTC.

ive got one, in fact had 3

and every phone shop, from tescos to phones4u the display models have all had a fault one way or another, and im talking about 15 handsets here

my gs3 came faultless first time

edit i got my one x and gs3 on launch day, ive now given my one x to the missus after i had it replaced twice for screen flex and ripple

imo if you brought 20 one x from different retailers, you would get more with defects than not, im basing that on in every shop ive been in the display model is a DOA unit

come again
and i was talking about the shops ive been in and tested, let alone my own 3 crap units

the only way anyone should buy a one x at the MOMENT is if you can test it before buying it
because there is faultless units out there, just not as much as crap ones imo

This^

I know a couple of people who thought they had perfect One X's but then started to notice all the flaws. Even Taiwanese news stations were reporting how bad HTC had messed up production of the One X phones.

Definitely Apple. Their stuff is designed much better and looks much cooler too.

Apple is very 'last year' now, looks very dated. HTC or Samsung would be my pick until the Windows 8 phones come along.

Most on here seem to say HTC is the best but anyone that has or has had the Desire or Desire S will tell you HTC is not that great due to battery and sometimes signal drop outs.
