What's the rumours around the iPod's? Are they getting a re-vamp with the rumoured new connector? Just I need a new iPod but will wait a little bit if they are going to change.

The only thing that stops me from buying an IPad for my exclusive personal use is the size. So the key is in the mini. It has to be bigger than the Iphone but smaller than the regular Ipad. The hubby has the IPad and i went for the Kindle because i wanted a reader. The Kindle is perfect for books, the Ipad is way too shinny, but Kindle the system is pre-historic. Just the thought of a slick new ipad but smaller puts a smile on my face. Hope it's true...

A queue to sue seems unlikely. On the other hand, you may have meant cue Samsung, Motorola, Amazon etc .......

This was strategically leaked way in advance.

Wonder why?

Nothing's confirmed until it comes out of Tim Cook's mouth. The only people who announce Apple products are Apple.

The Guardian had already pretty much announced it bar the date.
You really can't get much closer than that. Considering the Guardian normally do tease games, Apple are certainly doing the leaking this time round.

I'd say Apple are impressed enough by the Nexus to possibly do a few last minute adjustments.

Where have they confirmed it? All I can see is a round up of the rumours, that means nothing.

Steve Jobs always said the ipad was the perfect size, I know he's gone but I doubt apple will change the ipad size.

Every year we have rumours of iphone nanos and smaller ipads and guess what? They never come! It's no different this year.

The Guardian are not Apple. They are writing up rumours and speculation, that's it. Apple do not leak info. If there are leaks it comes from Chinese component manufacturers, not directly from Apple.

Apple are not stupid enough to have a rule book.
They seed information out all the time. It is all good marketing.

This ^^^

and they know that there are enough minions out there who will rush out to buy it even if its twice the price and half the spec of other tablets that dont have a fruit on the back.

My guess is that they will be seeing the success of the Nexus 7 and will be starting to get concerned that once people have entered the Android ecosystem they are less likely to switch to iOS (as is the same vice versa due to investment in apps etc). I think for once Apple have missed the smart move to fill the smaller screen (and lower budget) market and are in the unusual position of being the 'late entry'.

Interesting to see how this impacts their lawsuits though as it would look very much like they were copying others as they have complained about in the larger tablet market ....
