Friday's Sunset Beach
Sunset Beach is getting better and better now! I've just watched Friday's episode and the ending is hilarious with Annie walking into her house and finding Eddie in drag!
The stupidity is what makes SB so great, especially when everyone (bar a few) thinks that Annie is dead, yet she walks into her house, believing the person she sees is Olivia (who of course also thinks Annie is dead) and says "What are you doing in my house Olivia". If it had of been Olivia, it would no doubt have ruined the whole plan to clear her name whilst she's 'dead'. Plus I love the way they can all pick locks and break into each others houses with simplicity, and the way Annie often leaves Ben's house (even in daylight) yet is never caught. Last time round, I only watched year 2 and 3 of Sunset Beach (which are even better) so it's great to see everything I missed in the first year, The whole thing is just so unbelievable, but at the same time a must watch, gripping soap. |

Ive still not watched Fridays so I'm really looking forward to it now.
They can pick each others locks because its a peaceful town and theres no need for good locks on the door. lol |

Seeing Eddie in drag was the funniest thing to have happened so far. Especially with the big red lipstick and that awful cotton wool wig! lol! Sunset Beach nearly seems at the point where it turns into what the show becomes. Just need rid of Rae, Tiffany, Mark, Paula and Elaine first...the sooner the better!

Yeah, I can see why they got rid of those characters. Apart from Paula they are extremely wooden.
But there's no need for Paula when we have the gorgeous Gabbi. |

Same here. US soaps are the only soaps I watch. I have watched:
Sunset Beach (on FIVE) Days of our Lives (on FIVE) The Bold and the Beautiful (on FIVE and LivingTV) Knots Landing (re-runs on UKGold) Dallas (re-runs on UKGold) Melrose Place (on FIVE and Ftn) LOVE THEM ALL!!! Just wish I could see more. I would like to see Falcon Crest and Dynasty, aswell as all the daytime shows. I'm hoping to get all the prime-time soaps on DVD eventually. Dallas has just been released, it's only a matter if time before the rest follow. I want to collect the lot. I'm also recording every episode of Sunset Beach onto tape. I want the whole lot on video. I also have a huge archive of B&B!! Sad I know...but I just love them!!! |

Why is The Young and the Restless not shown here? It is the most popular US soap after all. Could it be that the programme makers are charging too much for it?
I'd also like to see Passions replace Sunset Beach after it's run. I think it appeals to the same demographic that Sunset Beach did (I.e young people). I have also heard it is verging on just as crazy as SB. |

Has anyone else noticed the dreadful scenery of the beach and a motionless sea in some 'outdoor' studio shots, especially outside Ricardo/Paulas house and Surf Central? I never remember seeing that in the second/third year...
Although to be fair, I think Sunset Beach was the first US soap to use real outdoor shots whenever possible. |

On an episode this week when Sean and Caitlin were outisde Surf Central i thought aww, theres a painting of the beach at surf central, then i noticed the tree move in the wind and realised it was suppose to be the actual because, not a picture!

Fridays episode was funny at the end. Why on earth would Annie say "what are you doing in my house Olivia?"!!?? She is trying to avoid being found so saying that was utterly stupid, but hilarious and thats why we all love SB

By the way, I can't believe that you fast forward scenes? Michael and Vanessa may be dull at times, almost as dull as Ricardo and Paula but still I sit and suffer through their scenes. I couldn't fast forward the show. I cry if I miss 30 seconds at the beginning! When I watch I need complete silence. Nobody is to disturb me. The phone is unplugged, mobile switched off. If someone knocks at the door it gets ignored. SB time is sacred! |

lol! I watch it on my own as i can't stand people interrupting.
I have learnt when im watching soaps now to just ignore the door if it goes, same with the phone as it really pi**es me off the amount of times te phone goes and its some stupid call centre, and it makes me miss part of my soap! |

I always get disturbed by my brother while I'm watch SB, telling me how 'garbage' it is. Whatever! It's been getting very good lately. And Michael and Vanessa are no worse than the awful Rae and Casey - just how much time do their scenes take up? Unbelievable.

Lets not forget that Annie likes a good drama and having Olivia discover her being alive would have made her day, all that worrying wheather she goes to the cops and sparing with Olivia over the issue, running to Ben etc.... So it was logical for Annie to do that. Also did you notice how disappointed Annie was when it turned out to be Eddie. LOL
The other day the phone rang and it was a telemarketer and I was like, for f**k sake I'm watching Neighbours. Bye. LOL And i like Michael and Vanessa and there storylines with Virginia. They go down in soap history for one plot that has got other shows doing stories with the same idea. You never saw a turkey baster feature in so many shows before Operation Insemination! And I like Rae. Kelly Hu is a really good actress. She stared in X-men 2. |

lol, what other programmes have featured turkey baster plots?
I know Brookside did it with Susannah, Max and Jacqui but apart from that, what else? |
