No network with nokia 5210

Hi all , i've got a 5210 nokia that won't / can't find any network , i've try manually searching for a network and auto searching , but the phone just keeps coming up with no network found .
Anyone know where i should start looking to fix this .

Have you just brought it? Is your sim card activated it? If you havent used it for a while it may have been de-activated

Hi Nockie , had the phone for a year working on O2 , turned it on the other day and network won't come up any more .

Try a different sim in it to make sure it's the phone at fault and not the sim being deactivated or anything.

Also, did you get the phone yourself or buy it from someone? Could be that the phone's IMEI has been blocked from the networks, but I am not sure what message you would get for this.

Generally if its barred and you search for network manually and select it would say "No Access".

When you search manually how many networks does it find?

EDIT: Just read your post properly. If when you search manually if finds no network, it is one of two faults:

1) Software, solved by a flash (see local service centre)

2) Hardware ( solved by reflow of cobba,ccont)

You can try doing a factory reset.....

had that problem on mine plus i know others who have, seems to be a problem with that model
