The winner of X Factor USA Melanie Amaro has debuted her first official single "Don't Fail Me Now" written by Livvi Franc and produced by Darkchild.

It's available here:

I think it's ok, I'm hoping it grows on me more as I was really excited for it but feel a bit let down at the moment.

Your thoughts?

It's not bad, but it's not blowing me away. Though I get the feeling they're trying to steer her away from being compared to Leona Lewis considering that's who she got originally compared too. I can't see Melanie sticking around for long though

I like it, she reminds me of Jordin Sparks in it. I dunno how it'll do though, I feel it lacks something.

Not heard it yet but I don't think it will. LA and Simon will want to recoup the $5 million prize money they are paying out. They'll give the single and album a massive push.

who? honestly, i had no idea who she was until the superbowl commercial and even then it took me a few weeks after seeing the commercial over and over to care enough to google it. i thought it was just some commercial, but i figured she had to be somewhat important to be in a commercial with the likes of elton john. i didnt watch x factor at all much like most of us in america. it didnt do very well at all last season, whereas the voice did fantastic. it's funny how the opposite is the case in the uk. it might do better this year since simon decided to get britney and demi, but he should really control his unhealthy obsession with beating people. it isnt that serious

It didn't do well in the states because American Idol is still the number 2 show on US tv. We don't have Idol here. So X Factor has a clear run.

It was a massive flop in America. Only got half the amount of viewers Simon wanted and embarrisingly said it would get. The whole series was a bit of a disaster, from Cheryl getting sacked, the disliking of Steve, Paula and Nicole. They will definetly do much better this year, just because of Britney Spears. The Voice and Idol did much better.
