The truth will out! It always does....

Thank you for such an enlightening and educational post.

It seems that the facts are clear.

I must be visually impaired then because I watched it again and I think some of his singing was mimed......btw,I'm not the only one on this forum suffering from 'visual impairment'.

Are you positive you aren't wearing blinkers?

lol. No but im sure that there was some sort of backing track vocals in some parts of a song.
that i agree on. But you can also hear him sing over the top of the backing track clearly to know hes live, everytime.

But once again im here to say that Tabby plays his guitar live

Tbh......I couldn't care less about the guitar argument since Tabby has said that the track is recorded and he is only playing chords. His word is good enough for me.
I do however feel that the vocal miming is quite different and certainly a misrepresentation of his skills.

JH first of all this "mate of mine" sounds like a quote from "The Sun"

Secondly is this mate in a band and knows how to set up a gig.. Which have a lot of Wireless/Radio mics these days

And thirdly NO he wasn't miming the vocals.. If your "mate"was more than 200 feet away then the laws of the Equivalence of Energy and Matter come into play.. Sound travels slower than light so what you see and what you hear is out of synch..
And for that matter if he was watching a monitor (TV screen to you and him) then the same laws apply.
When it's broadcasted to the nation through the medium of Television they can synchronise it so it's all one..

No you are right she has never been near a musician before...oh well except for U2, Sting, the Manics etc. But she was not near one when she saw Tabby that's for sure.

All I'm hearing is Blah, Blah, Blah. She was a few feet away and unless Tabby was singing in a badly dubbed Japanese Kung Fu film , he was pretty outta sync. And not near a sink either by the expressed smell he offered form his person.

PSML Hater

Your sort are so insulated..

I DO know the industry quiet well, and I do know Paul, and the boys also.

I was at his wedding FFS

But as to your claims that your fiend, who knows so much about how to set up a live broadcast, let alone a live show. Knows more than I do is laughable at the very least.

She's a journalist and that’s all..

I would never write about current world affairs, unless I knew more than I do already

What are her credentials to have an opinion about Music apart from writing for the sun..
Which are dubious at best.

Unless you and her know what you are talking about, then I suggest you keep quiet..

Though I already know your dander is raised and you'll try to win by picking on something that you know nothing about, but have a “Friend” to back you up in your ludicrous statements, then you will feel justified about your "points of View"

Don’t bother, your views are as mad as you are

The guitar is the interesting one in itself as people will not understand it and state that he does play everything himself during the live show ....

- Tabby records the track for the guitar
- Tabby admits he only plays a chord or two in performances (a strum to me)

Yet people still say he does it all live ... which is fake and looks it (which is possibly the reason why he received less votes)

As for miming, Sharon did mention that his voice was tired for footy match as he had been in the recording studio - I had assumed for the guitar ..... but my other half also reckons he mimed ... but I wasn't taking too much notice of vocals

Regardless of any knowledge anyone may or may not have on the subject in hand, resorting to this sort of bigoted insult nullifies anything bordering on sensible that they may have to say IMO.

Right - thankfully the last time I have to do this.

Bits of Tabby's performance that have live guitars -

1) Intro riff - about 5 seconds of it.

2) Solo break after second chorus.

3) A strummed chord or two over the end - not much to speak of.

The rest was not.

If you have it on tape watch his right hand, there is volume control below the rear pickups which he changes from full to off after each part he actually plays live.

That's all I'm adding.

He's gone.

Good luck to him in the future - and to G4 in the final.

Thanks Histeria for another overview.

It won't make much difference though I suspect.

All we have been trying to establish on Tabby's behalf is that he plays some parts live over the backing track. I think it's a pointless exercise though and it's been done to death.

At the end of the day he knows he can play, we can see he can play - end of story.

Hope to hear from you again maybe if anything grabs your interest on another show.

Just wanted to add my thanks to Histeria for pointing out the facts.

As I mentioned on the Team Tabby thread, there are some posters on this forum who wouldn't recognise a guitarist if he/she fell out of the sky and landed on their heads - either because they are too stupid or else determined to put Tabby down at every turn. The fact that they have had someone with musical and technology knowledge explain the situation to them seems to have completely passed them by.

Now I'm cross with myself, because I was determined not to enter this argument again.

Tabby can play the guitar - end of. And that's my last word on the subject..........

Apart from the fact that Tabby can play the guitar.

That last comment is asking for trouble again Jeanie - you do like living dangerously

Wonder what they will do with his fake guitar?

Not really, no. Purely a practical application. See second part of my quote here.

Depends what he does next, I guess. The line between "pop" and "rock" is more blurred now than it has been in fifteen years, IMO. See Good Charlotte and Busted as examples.
