with Hollyoaks having two sets of credits at the moments its abit messy but what should be done if we get new ones?

personally i wouldnt mind some group shots with a slower theme maybe a minute long with characters in different locations in the village and a more dramtic closing version of the theme

any thoughts?

I think the style works but with Amy, Michaela, Scott and Linsey being removed from them it's going to make it a bit of a strange pace.

Then again removing those four may mean they can just slot Annalise, Ash, Barney and Rob into the 6th form titles and therefore only have on set.

However it does mean a hell of a lot of characters still missing from the titles. They should just use the title card from the ad breaks and make the episodes 45 seconds longer.

Though they still need to add Lacey, Joel, Ally, Jen, Phoebe, Walker and also upcoming characters Liam Gilmore and possibly Poppy (Maddie's sister) and Dylan

and to add from the sixth form credits are doug analise ash rob and dennis

the credits are rushed as they are no way could they add that many more unless they extended the music and made slower shots

Some of the characters in the credits get less screen time than actual main players like Martha, Walker and Dr. Browning who aren't in there at all. 'Tis a bit frustrating.

Doug and Dennis are permanently in the credits aren't they?

Phoebe and Lacey should be added but the rest seem to exist for story purposes. The problem with group shots is if someone leaves.

However, if they green screen them together it wont be a problem as they can still just easily remove them. Have you seen the video of Paul Marquess original credit plan? SHOCKING.

nope just the student version

and if it was simple group village shots it wouldnt take long to film new ones every 2 to 3 months ect

yes awful and they spend a good 4 months doing them and still couldnt get them right some times i wonder who the hell they employ at hollyoaks

Actually that'd work like maybe do a panning shot of the SU/ChezChez/Attwells/The village/CollegeCoffee and just green screen characters into it therefore easily replacable as would be the backgrounds.

woudnt even need a green screen though simply the characters messing around or poseing then add the names would only take a few mintues simiar to the early home and away credits and sort of like the neighbours ones now

I am sure under Bryan Kirkwood, Paul Marquess and Gareth Philips the titles were updated frequently. Seems like Lucy Allan and Emma Smithwick are lazy and they didn't seem to get updated EVER under Lucy Allan either. Not a good sign.

Michaela, Lynsey and Amy are in both openings so in one opening they could be replaced by Joel, Pheobe and Lacey and in the other opening they could be replaced by Ally, Jen and Walker. But I agree, they need to be updated frequently.

yes I agree. I don't think they need solo shots.

yes its something I think oaks would doo , theres ovs grren screen and all that and I think teens in a photo both would be good and the current oaks end shot could stay as it is or get revamped, so its mire like the video above with the photos falling but they could change it so only has the key players in that episode....

The problem I find with the Hollyoaks titles is that, using a cast based title sequence means things look outdated very quickly.

Firstly - I like the theme tune but it does need to be slowed down and made to sound more like the 1995-2007 versions.

Also they need to introduce a few versions for the closing credits - somthing that would look/sound great for Hollyoaks

- Sad Version
- Romantic Version
- Dramatic/Epic Version
- Normal Version

As you can see there could be 4 versions of the closing theme, Somthing that was originally planned for when Bryan Kirkwood took over but never happened.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In terms of the opening titles and Previously On:

The Previously On needs to be more dramatic so when the titles come on you get goosebumps.

and yes the titles need to be revamped entirely so all characters including the older characters can be used.

Or for what would be a first for Hollyoaks make a sequence using just locations in the show.

I don't know why they bother having cast members in the opening credits. Just have thirty seconds showing the sights of Hollyoaks village and they'd be sorted.

I personally don't think they need any of the cast in the opening credits, just location shots as in Emmerdale, Corrie & EE

It looks as though I should have read the thread thoroughly before posting

I love the title song!

After a chilling episode of Silas, I enjoy the music at the end!
