Sounds like it stuffed up while writing the new firmware in which case it could be stuffed. Maybe the battery gave out? Was the AC adapter in during the firmware upgrade? Not that it matters now.
Is the firmware held on the memory stick? I cant remember, I dont think it is in which case you are the owner of a shiny Sony brick. Google "psp unbrick" lots of how to's there that may help. |

Find someone with a Pandora battery and they'll be able to fix it for you.

thanks for the replies guys! is a guy @ work who may now have a brick, I just gave him a couple of disks. I do feel kinda responsible/guilty about it. I think it was plugged in at the time, and a near full battery. the green power light stays on for about 10 seconds, but the screen never fires up. thanks again, will Google more I get on a pc.

If you can't find anyone to fix it I'll do it but you'd have to send me the psp which is up to you. I have no reason to steal one, I have two already, however I can only offer my honesty.

Rich is right, get yourself a Pandora battery. I picked one up when I thought I had killed my PSP a while back by flashing it with the wrong firmware. Had it back up and running in no time - the place I got it from did a kit with a memory card preloaded with various firmwares on (both official and unofficial) and a set of instructions, so it was literally just a case of following a couple of steps to restore.
