Who cares?! they both seem gay whatever that means, it wouldn't shock me if they were together. Good luck to them!

Exactly - who cares. It's nobody's business but their own.

I had no idea. Of course heard rumours about Colin for quite some time, and not surprised about him...

Doing some googling Colin is rumoured to have been with Michael Johnson?
the US runner?

Of course not everthing on internet is true, but...
Small things and small minds? Why are people so concerned and captivated by the sexuality of others? Whose business is it anyway?

When people do the whole 'who cares? it's their business' routine I think it's meant to give an air of being so wonderfully liberal about gay people that they don't even notice it, like people who claim they don't see skin colour.

However, in reality it comes off as a 'shh, don't talk about these sort of things. They might do it behind closed doors but do we really need to talk about it?' kind of attitude. Like I say, that's probably not the intention, but that's how it always seems to me.

Why shouldn't we speculate on someone's sexuality? When we speculate on any celeb's relationship, we are speculating on their sexuality. By asking if x footballer is going out with y glamma model, we are speculating that they are heterosexual but we do not address this bit as it's the default assumption and go straight on to who they are sleeping with.

There's a lot of gossip on this forum to do with who is going out with/sleeping with/cheating on who from a heterosexual viewpoint. I would say 'who cares?' is an equally appropriate comment. Who cares if KStew is shagging the entirety of Hollywood each time Rob blinks? Obviously, people do, in just the same way as the OP read something about Colin & Mark and wondered if they were together, but in order to do that then had to wonder first if they were both gay. Then this is new information to some people, so they come in and express surprise at it, in the same way people might express surprise at finding out that Imogen Thomas is pregnant.

When I say I don't care about someone's sexuality .. That's exactly what I mean.. I don't want it to be hushed up or not allow others to talk about it either.. I'm just not bothered. How does someone's sexuality define them as a person..

Except it seems to matter to confused teenagers trying to come to terms with their sexuality and it seems to matter when legal rights issues come up - like Gay Marriage, equal rights etc.

Both Zachary Quinto and Anderson Cooper came out because they felt it was important to say so.

I don't know maybe it does matter, maybe we do need to know? For people who are bigoted the first step to changing their perceptions is actually confronting and discovering that their fears are misplaced.

But shouldn't that be their choice to "come out" not be pushed to it by the media or anyone esle

Well that's what I said, it probably isn't meant in that way. However it comes across as being like that, because this is the Showbiz forum and the nature is to gossip about everything about celebs. To have protests 'who cares' so much (generally, not you specifically) when the forum dissects every other minute aspect of celebrity life is contradictory.

I don't care whether Imogen Thomas is pregnant or not, or whatever craziness is now going on in the Jackson family, or whatever is going on with Katie Price so I don't read those type of threads. I don't feel the need to go in, read them and the comment with 'who cares?' because a) it's rude and b) it's a waste of my time.

Having said all that, I don't know why you've responded as you have, because looking back on the thread, you aren't even part of the who cares brigade anyway. In fact, you're actively commenting on whether or not they are gay, so I don't get why you've made the above comment?

I don't care.

I don't mean that in a harsh way.

If either of them is gay - that's their business.
If they are in a relationship together - or with other people - that's their buiness

What I DO know - it's non of my business.

(but if they are I wish them well)

True but the argument was about why it mattered to know. Why it makes a difference to know.

Both stated that they had previously felt it was nobody else's business but had changed their minds because of stories about bullying, teen suicides etc.

So while in perfect world it shouldn't in this world it seems too.

It doesn't matter to know but this is a SHOWBIZ forum, speculation about someone's sexuality is always around famous people. I am just as liberal as the "who cares!" brigade but I do like knowing who is gay who is straight who is bonking who, not because it matters to my life greatly but because I am nosey and like a good gossip! What's wrong with that? I agree with the above post that said those who always answer threads like this with "who cares?" And usually those who try be THE most liberal and would say things like oh I didn't notice colin jackson was mixed race or that he was camp! What are you scared noticing it would mean you were a bit homophobic racist?!

Again, love the 'who cares?' responses. This forum, at least this section, thrives off the private lives of celebrities. Who's seeing who, which pretender someone from One Direction is shagging, which Sugar Babe is up the Duff, which movie star is having a dream wedding...

...all stuff I honestly have no interest in, but lost of people seem to.

Gay relationship?

'OMG! Who cares!!!!?!?!?!'

Predictable, as ever.

I think if people wish to make idle gossip then fair enough - let's face it, forums like this wouldn't exist otherwise!!

But what I dislike is this almost aggressive push to 'out' people, as if they are somehow 'betraying' the public by not obliging to reveal every facet of their personal lives.

There is absolutely no legible reason as to why Colin Jackson needs to reveal this information about himself. He's a hugely successful and talented person and seems like a nice guy, yet still these salacious rumours, almost poking fun at his sexuality, continue to follow him around as if that is all he is defined by, never mind what he has achieved as an athlete for his country.

Two good looking, intelligent, articulate people who have both excelled in their chosen field and then gone on to a media career within that sport. Neither are headline grabbers for the wrong reasons and are both on the screen for the right reason, actually being good at what they do.

Good looking, classy couple with pride and dignity - not many of them about in celebworld these days

Seems to be easy for female athletes, but oh so difficult for men. That's sad.
I thought it was common knowledge? But I think Blondie and Jaccobabe have both put it brilliantly. Colin's voice would drive me mad, but what role models for gay kids if they were more open. ( I'm not criticising them, they are more than entitled to their privacy if they wish) but as the BIB in JB's post says, it is sad that in this day or age that such great athletes have to hide so much. We need positive, vocal role models to stop the horrendous bullying still so prevalent in schools.

Knew about Colin Jackson being gay in about 2003 A friend said he came to her party and introduced the man he was with as his partner. I asked if he could of meant business partner- she laughed and said romantic partner.

Heard these rumours for a few years now: don't know if they're true but I could've guessed Colin was gay, but never in a million years, Mark.

I like them both: Mark is a hottie who I wish I could turn and Colin - unlike Denise Lewis, who I can't stand - is great as a pundit, even predicting Usain Bolt's time. They both excelled in their sport and seem lovely enough...so if they're together, I'm extremely happy for them...

(Lol, why do the same posters keep coming on to these threads to declare ad infinitum that they 'don't care'?)
