I sometimes get the feeling that the people who make this show never went to school

Also, I too missed the first episode, and cannot fathom this new setup, just ridiculous!

And another thing...

Connor is supposedly a Year 12, so 16/17 years old, people that age do not get 'grounded'

I would have grounded my son at that age, still at school, not supporting himself, not and adult so yep, I would have grounded if I had needed to and he would have known not to argue!

Really?

I was still at school at that age, but felt like an adult and expected to be treated like one. I knew some people who had moved out and were working at that age

Then again I never was grounded at any point

How come that other head teacher, Gerald, has so much time on his hands that he can constantly come over to Waterloo Road?! No wonder, so many pupils left his school...

Neither was my son, like you say behave like an adult and be treated as one, behave in an unacceptable way and be punished especially whilst living at home at the expense of parent.
If at that age you have moved out of the family home and have your own place nobody is going to ground you are they?

. At 16/17 you may have felt like an adult but you are not. everyone knows some teenagers are immature some are mature.

Going back to WR storyline, drinking Vodka in school is a very silly thing to do, as is setting fire to the boiler room ( and they don't know about that yet) . now my son would never have done that but if he had and I had been called to the heads office you bet he would have been grounded.
