Would ever like the Doctor to be defeated by the Daleks ?

From what we know he put them in a time lock (which I always assume is different from wiping them out altogether) along with the Time Lords. But it is a good example of the lengths he is willing to go to when he is pushed. He's always strikes me as somebody who would put his morals aside if he needs to.

why dont they just shoot the doctor every chance they have rather than having a conversation with him?

Yeah but they would have still all died in the timelock, that's how the bit of the war we see in the end of time can be "the last day"

I think that worse than that, they die and get resurrected to die over and over again. A sort of infinite loop thing. I remember Crazy Dalek Caan rambling something to that effect.
