I had to look this up, but in Fear Her the Doctor says Papua New Guinea is a surprise winner in the shot put.

Actually I had been thinking of it as well. Something mentioned in another thread reminded me.

I'm not interested enough to actually watch the shot put, however.

He didn't go back further than the Eleventh Hour, saying that he hated repeats. So he didn't rewind the prior regenerations timelines. However, the cracks could've done the damage instead.
