There I was thinking loads of people would agree with my thread title She seems to have quite a bit of support now.

Well we shall see how madam Sophie gets on over the next week, at the moment i'm not a lover of her as you may be able to tell

What's behind branding her as a "madam?" I've yet to see her do anything that would justify such a label.

Surely the term would first be much more appopriately used to describe the self-pitying Natalie Appleton, the overbearing Janet Street Porter, or the ultimate demanding diva, Sheila Ferguson?

Sophie approached her chest-collecting duty and insect-eating trial enthusiastically, with virtually no complaint or objection. She has also remained supportive of the group as a whole, and on a one-to-one basis, despite the ongoing backbiting. Her biggest crime, that I can see, was thoughtlessly complaining about the Eel supper last night, but given how unappetising that looked it's neither incomprehensible or unforgivable.

(It's also worth remembering that Sophie was the only camp member to have witnessed Natalie's pitiful attempts at a trial. To be forced to eat that filth knowing how little effort Natalie put in to winning a decent meal would certainly make me sick.)

Sophie remains dignified and strikingly beautiful in the face of adversity. I can't help but wonder if objections within the camp and from people on this forum isn't driven in some small part by an element of jealousy.

What is your problem? And I ask with a polite curiosity. You are the one person on this forum who seems deeply angry at Sophie. Let me remind you that you do not even know this person and that you are responding to a very carefully edited program designed to get such a response in order to get ratings.

Now just take a moment to put yourself in Sophie's situation where she is being ganged up on. Don't you think you would try to make friends? Don't you think you would be excited about getting food for people who are doing their best to be assholes to you? Don't you think you would be hurt? I know I would be. I would feel awful if people were being that snide and mean and bossy to me.

Sophie is a good good person. She is not the bitch you are thinking you are seeing. I know this. She may be vain at times. But she is trying hard to look at herself all the time. The amount of bravery it takes to look your addiction in the eye and take it on is more than most can imagine. She has been medicating her feelings for years. And believe me, she has a lot of reason to medicate. Sophie didn't have some perfect upbringing. She has had to deal with a lot of rough shit. And there you are, throwing more negative shit at her. She is a very loving person. I can tell you honestly that she was trying really hard to work out the situation with Natalie. She is not scheming. She just wants to be liked and accepted by those people, and she may not know how to behave sometimes because she is really new at being sober. I am not sure you understand what that is about. And if you do, then I wonder if you are projecting a whole load of your own problems on her.

She is my friend. I love Sophie. Leave her alone.

I have no problem. I just can't take to her. I have stated my reasons in various posts on this forum. I know the programme is edited, but I watch the live stuff pretty much 24.7 as I have Sky. I actually think she is edited more favourably than she seems on the live feed. maybe i'm wrong Of course I don't know her, but do people know Sheila, Natalie or Janet or any of the other contestants in the show that they have been saying negative things about on here? No! We can only go by what we see and people like different things in different people.

I'm afraid this is a forum and not everybody is going to like everybody in Im a Celeb. Its unfortunate that Sophie is your friend and you have read stuff you don't like about her on here. My posts are nothing in comparison to some of the hate filled stuff I have read on here. I am entitled to my opinion and if you don't like what I have to say then don't read it. Saying that there is still a a week to go, maybe Sophie will redeem herself in my eyes and I will see where you are coming from.

wowww i LOVE this thread im so happy to see so many sticking up for Sophie here i agree with everything that has been said in support of sophie. Some people do seem to have a big problem with her but do not have very good reasons backing up why they feel this way towards soph.
