Kate Middleton Duchess of Cambridge
I think I am one of the very few who is not overly keen on our new royal.
Initially I liked her but the more I see the more she grates on me I find her facial expression totally OTT and fake and feel that she is'nt as she makes out. Also I get the feeling that there is very little spark between her and Prince William. I know that I should'nt compare but I much preferred Diana. |

Should this be on this page - it is for Showbiz?
Talking of Diana - I have a friend who met her - and she detests her after that meeting. So they can all put on different faces when necessary. |

She's Kate Mountbatten-Windsor or Kate Wales, she's not been Kate Middleton since she got married. Do the people who call her Middleton do it because they forgot about the Royal wedding?

![]() What Diana, the manipulative 'queen of hearts' who was absolutely the worst possible match for dear old HRH Charlie. The woman who cared so much about her sons welfare that she went on telly to reveal all to Martin Bashir? Sorry, IMHO, she was loathesome. I'm no royalist but I think Kate Middleton seems a decent enough woman and I think her and William seem genuinely in love, unlike Di and Charles. Yes, she's never done a day's work but hey, she should fit right in at Buckingham Palace with all the other freeloaders

Genuinely nice, happy, smiley, kind women generally do get slagged off as being "fake" don't they. Because there's not really much else to slag them off with.
To me, Kate seems like a grounded, happy, very much in love woman. I wouldn't say she's a role model or anything, but to me she comes across as a nice woman who cares very much about charitable causes and is doing a good job in her first/second year of being an official Royal. Just because she and William aren't all over each other all the time, doesn't mean they have no chemistry. I think they seem completely in love and very natural together. It doesn't seem forced, they just seem comfortable. A lovely couple. |

I like Kate
She seems like a lovely young woman, and I disagree that there is no spark between her and William. They seem very much in love.I'm not a fan of the Monarchy as an institution, but have nothing against them as individuals. William and Kate both seem like genuinely nice people, and I hope they have a very happy life together

How about this for some spontaneous affection between Kate and William yesterday:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/ar...-win-gold.html I was starting to think that she had more chemistry with Prince Harry than her hubby until I saw these. Lovely natural pictures and I'm not a huge fan or royalist

I have no issue with her at all. She seems to make William happy, and has probably pulled him out of himself better than anyone else could have - could you imagine William 'letting go' as much if he hadn't been with Kate? He hates the coverage, the media, the attention, but with Kate he seems to be more relaxed - and that can only be a good thing, because like it or lump it, it is his destiny to be constantly on view. I wouldn't want Kate's life for all the tea in China (bar the loving marriage bit - I'd love that...) because of the constant scrutiny and speculation, and the constant insults from people who have nothing better to do, but make huge leaps of assumption from one or two photos (which are published at the behest of editors of newspapers to a set agenda, by the way). On the DM website you will ALWAYS find people who, no matter what the photos on show, will try and tell you that William is 'miserable - and looking more miserable with each photo published' and blaming it all on Kate. So what if Kate has a good relationship with Harry - it doesn't mean anything is wrong! Surely it's a good thing in a family which has elder members who are so buttoned-up? And Harry is much more relaxed because he can afford to be - he's not the heir! Of course he's going to be more animated and less formal than William! Believe it or not, men and women can be friends (and brothers/sisters-in-law) without anything sinister getting in the way, but hey, don't let that get in the way of a good old lustful conspiracy theory... Leave Kate alone, let her and William make their lives the way they want to, and just accept that life isn't fair and some people will always be better off than us, and others worse off. It's just the way it is, but the Royals don't deserve to be attacked for a quirk of fate. |

I find the Royal Family in general fake. Doing charity work because it is expected, attending events because it is expected. Meeting people because it is expected. All protocol. Just my opinion of course.
