I’M A Celebrity is dying on its jungle feet! Most of this bunch of contestants have turned out to be boring and viewers are now starting to switch off.
The show started last week on a high of 9.7million viewers. The number of people who tune in now is down to just over 7million. So what’s going wrong? Here jungle veterans Jordan and Peter Andre give their view.
JORDAN says:
The best thing ITV could do to liven up the camp is get me and Pete back in there to do a Bushtucker Trial!
I think, for the first time, a lot of the people in the camp have forgotten to leave their egos on the doorstep — they seem too conscious of how they’re being portrayed and what they’re saying.
Self conscious ... Janet - Janet doesn’t even bother to hide that — she’s constantly saying, ‘I can’t tell you now, you have to be careful what you say in here’.
It takes the fun out of the show, they’re not being good sports. That shows in the Bushtucker Trials as well. ITV must have been gutted at the live airtime they wasted on Natalie’s trial.
She has been the most selfish, spoiled, self-obsessed person ever to be in that camp — she totally forgot it was a game, that she was being paid to take part and that part of that game was to entertain by giving it your best shot for the team. I think she turned viewers off boring everyone.
PETER says:
There’s no chemistry in the camp, and the biggest turn off in the show’s history was Natalie Appleton.
The show, for me, went downhill after her live Bushtucker Trial. Her dreadful attitude was the worst ham acting I’ve ever witnessed. All I wanted was for Ant and Dec to push her into one of those tanks and close the lid.
She was ruining the show because she wasn't a team player and believed it was all about her. I wanted to turn off the TV every time she came on. The only person who has tried to play the game is Sophie Anderton, she’s gone right up in my estimation.
The lack of food — the worst since the show began — has put them all on the point of starvation, so they have no energy to do anything. A pizza and a few bottles of wine would give an immediate injection of good spirits.
Wet blanket ... Vic Reeves - Bringing Vic Reeves in was a mistake. He has proved a wet blanket rather than the big, colourful character expected.
The bragging butler - CREEPY Burrell walked a tightrope and boasted to Nancy: “Oh Nance, I’m doing this for you.”
BRIAN Harvey ate burgers and bonked girlfriend Emma B for 48 hours after he quit the jungle. The singer said: “It’s made everything better.”
