Why is Sophie so disliked?

I'm hoping someone can tell me what I've missed here. Sophie seems pretty unpopular in the camp and on this forum but I can't see why. I don't have the benefit of the live feed or any of the ITV2 programmes so perhaps I'm missing something that isn't shown on ITV1?

I really haven't seen anything so bad about her yet. In fact, I'm even starting to admire her sense of sportsmanship. What has she done that is so awful?

she reminds me of catilina a bit and seems to have a me me me attitude!
Altho I have to admit i havent really watched that much of this series (i dont think its as good as last years!)
But the only 3 i think are alright are nancy, fran and joe!

I don't like her as I didn't have a clue who she was. As already mentioned she is very self obsessed, I don't like the way she is looking for cameras either

I think she is the least genuine person in there. I think that everything she does in there is thought out before she does it which I don't like.

On a positive note. She isn't as unpopular as you think.

she is the worst sort of person to be confined with..... self obsessed, a droning boring voice, and she tells the same me-me-me story repeatedly until the other contestants are left wishing they could be bitten by something deadly to relieve the pain of hearing her.

Why has a strikingly beautiful woman who has met the challenges of the jungle with suprising enthusiasm and accomplishment aroused such resentment both in the camp and from certain people on these forums?

Hmmm... Jealousy, perhaps?

sometimes, just sometimes people do not dislike others because they are jealous of them. I am a 31 year old woman and a bit past things like that, although I wouldn't mind her legs

In fairness to her she has been seen giving Nat lots of help and supported to her, even after Nat had behaved like a spoiled toddler to her and ranted, Sophie went on to put it behind her and has given her lots of support.

Is this something that happens on the live feed then? It hasn't happened on the ITV1 show, but then between Natalies BTTs, Joes constipation and Sheila's songs there hasn't been much time to show it I suppose. I know from being a BB addict that you can't get a true picture of a person from the nightly shows but I'm at a loss to see why someone who is allegedly so horrible is shown in such a good light in the highlights. Or maybe I'm just naive?

put your finger right on it there mate, i have watched this constantly (i know i am sad) and i dont know where people are getting this looking at cameras from, if they are watching the itv1 programme i think they could get the idea she is looking for the cameras through editing, but watching itv2 she is no worse than the others in fact janet sheila and nacy play to the cameras constantly, i think its a case of to many people reading the tabloids and wanting to belive the worst

I find her likeable, and would be delighted if she won. Anyone see her boyfriend on This Morning? He thought her attention seeking was classic post-recovery behaviour, as she is getting natural highs from accomplishment, and just wants a bit of acknowledgement for her contribution.

I've actually watched a lot of this years IAC programming, and don't find her that attention seeking anyway. Not compared with Sheila the belting songbird! I like the way Sophie gets on with the task in hand, and stays cheerful in the face of hostility. She's been remarkably restrained in her comments, too. Sophie to win!

I thought she was funny last night when she suggested to Huggy that he might be underestimating the GBP.

Don't make the mistake of assuming that everyone else is operating within your own cultural margins.

Sophie is the best one in there! Well shes my fav how can people say shes pretty shame about her personality, shes done nothing wrong on the show, shes been a great sport, stuck up for herself when others seemed to have a go at her. I think shes great.
