LOL - hope you feel better!
Thanks. Not a fan of this time of year at all. I have just finished a long, boring piece of work and notice that it is now pitch dark and raining again. I want it to be summer so I can reward myself by sitting in the garden for a bit.

I never play facebook games, and today was tempted into a kind of pop quiz game Luke had been playing and couldn't even work out how the game worked, let alone do well at the questions.

I was feeling very sorry for mtself! Briafly, my sister in law has dementia and last Christmas she collapsed at the dinner table and my daughter and I spent the rest of the day at A and E. This year, daughter has refused to have her as she said her Christmas was ruined last year! She said I could go but how can I leave an 86 yr old woman to spend Christmas all alone? What makes it worse, is that my daughter is one of the beneficiaries in her Aunt's will so will be fairly wealthy when the time comes. Anyway, I have booked a restaurant for the 2 of us so I hope my sister in law likes it! I am over it now
Jean, I hope you and your sister in law had a good christmas xx

Wow WD, hope you've recovered and had a good day at work.

Everyone else, hope you all had good christmases and a happy and healthy new year to you all xx

PS I've not seen the closer interview, I got the bumper 2 week edition thinking it covered the dates

Oh dear, the dates are very misleading. I will see if I can scan it tomorrow and put it on here.

Luke's edition was still in my local Co-op today. That double week edition totally threw me. Why would they have the (supposedly) Christmas edition out in the middle of December then bring out another single edition 4 days before Christmas? The only mag I buy regularly is the Radio Times so I'm not familiar with anyone else's schedule.

Which shellfishy person was described by Luke tonight as 'the funniest lady ever invented'?

Has everyone heard the teaser for Luke's upcoming 2 hours 30 minutes interview, imagaine if he'd have chosen the name suggested by his mum at 3:55 mins .

Thanks for finding that. I've taken the liberty of posting it on the FB group as nobody else had.

Wow, even that snippet is really powerful stuff. Exactly the kind of candour I was hoping he would provide somewhere, somehow. 2.5 hours is going to be a bit of a haul though. I'll have to listen to that in chunks, I can't devote all that time to hear it in one go.

Yes, the names chat was funny. When you think about how important our names are to our identity, not many people do what Luke had to and choose their own. I always assumed it was a Star Wars reference but maybe it was just that it tripped nicely off the tongue. Better than Laura Anderson, I must admit.

I think he read some of the other threads first and that put him off. His FB page is the page to talk to him!

It's ok, I don't want to talk to him. Just wondered if he had posted here.

I am glad Luke has never tried to join DS. On twitter he gets a steady flow of complete shit from people whose brains explode at the thought of a transgender person. That is probably enough for one person to deal with without having the kind of trolling that eventually drove Jonty off digitalspy. For every two people who understand the meaning of a debate there seems to be one person who thinks it means 'trading insults until the less obnoxious person flinches'.

Hi Parker, welcome to DS and Luke's AT.
I thought he would enjoy reading an appreciation thread, no?
Yes he did enjoy it but there's no need for him to post in here and we don't ever expect him to. All us regulars are in his FB group anyway (although I don't know whether he can match up the others' DS names to their real names. Obviously he can work out who I am! ) We chat away to him like we're old mates, he has absolutely no pretensions about being famous or better than anyone. He gets so much crud from other sources, especially Twitter, that he doesn't need to open himself up to the DS main forum bear pit. It doesn't have a good reputation for the way it treats ex HMs. The place erupted a few weeks ago when Aaron dropped in for a Q&A, and not in a good way. I'm the same as Jean, I don't post much outside this thread either.

Twitter has been AWFUL tonight. Someone explain the psychology to me of people who put the nastiest things they can contrive on twitter in the hope of upsetting someone they have never met? No, on second thoughts, they are just morons.

The transgenderzone interview has a kind of 'ultimate' feel to it, for anyone interested in transgender experiences, but probably not worth putting on the DS forum, at least not in the middle of a CBB. I should think people would have a fit if I linked to a 2.5 hour interview.

Is anyone entering the 'make a video' competition on facebook? I haven't got a clue. I only discovered that my camera has a video function when the competition was announced and I asked someone. I haven't the least idea how to edit a video or upload it and I can't imagine who would take part in one. I haven't given up though. I think it would be good for me to try even if it is abysmal.

Hi all. I miss ya'll. I've had a lurk now and then on my phone. Bit sad I can't watch CBB, my teens are using all the downloads.
