Very sorry to read hulakula's post from yesterday about a twitter comment saying that Luke and Becki have split up. As there seems to have been no reaction on here does this mean that it isn't true?

Almost immediately, and seems to have stayed there. How odious some people are. Fancy using the opportunity of someone's personal sadness to score nasty points against them.

Good news also seems to be used to score points. (Some of the nastiest posts about Grace, for example, were when she won Cirque de Celebrité.)

Indeed, almost any mentioned of a HM can bring it out, which is one reason why many people who like HMs don't post news about them on the main forum. In some cases, they've even had to stop posting it in the appreciation thread, because people who disliked the HM would mine the AT for ammunition.

Some people said they'd gained respect; others did the other thing. Similarly, in the Luke & Becki thread, some expressed (dare I say it?) sympathy.

It's not a new phenomenon though; and it seems to be a big part of what the internet is like.

Yes true. I think sympathy is the right thing to feel in these circumstances. (Sorry for anyone else reading; the wink was not about Luke and Becki, but about veri and me arguing over months about what sympathy is.)

N O is not slagging off Jo. She has said nothing but nice things about her. She was just having a light-hearted rant about the return of Luke A as a name. No offence was meant to anyone at all.

I always think of Luke as a person not a BB character and as BB can be something of a millstone around someone's neck plus there were some unhappy memories associated with the name for Luke not to mention the fact that he is looking to move forward that it is best that everyone remembers that his name is Luke. The A was only chosen to differentiate between the two Lukes and is now not needed - I don't think anyone could mistake them now

Dear Oh lor', what an outbreak of gracelessness in the 'Luke and Becki have split up' thread. And it is a kind of orphaned gracelessness, because it is attached to such an utter non-story. People have to pretend that he has done a sordid kiss and tell in the Daily Star for it to make sense.

Luke having a funny conversation with Mr Snuggles on twitter. He turns out to be called @SteveDela even though he 'looks like a Dave'. He is telling Luke that "you're a really good sport."

Yes, I've seen some of that conversation, Mr Snuggles is right, he was an extremely good sport. Such a contrast between Luke's resigned and funny approach to being made to look a bit of a prat, putting up with the humiliation with such good grace, compared to the other Luke's 'I need a haircut, I don't care if you could be evicted tonight' attitude. Yes, that was so strange. And Luke and Adam just dived in there on Deana's behalf, and they weren't even supposed to be a couple. (Well, it would have been a trio and frankly rather odd, but you know what I mean.)

That's good news The separation must be hard hard enough for both Becki and Luke without people feeling the need to scrutinise their relationship when they don't know anything about them.
