Really?? clearly that's the only plausible explanation, it It couldn't possibly have been because they have broke the T&C!

well there is a link labelled 'jobs' at the bottom of the page. If you click on it, the page reads, verbatim,

Quote:
“random()*1000000000000000000) + '/VIEWID=' + ai_viewid + '/' + ai_extra_adtag + '/' + crtg_content + '/' + as_connect + '/AISTQ_300x250=' + AISTQ_300x250 + '/SCREEN_WIDTH=' + $(document).width() + '/SIZE=MPU/POS=TOP"><\/scr'+'ipt>'); }”

Perhaps they are looking for code crackers?

Has anyone read this interview? for some reason I missed this when it came out http://www.transliving.co.uk/

For all of those who aren't on twitter or the facebook group and haven't seen it, nominate Luke for the LGBT positive role model award

Yes, I put it verbatim on this AT then had an attack of conscience and asked them if they minded, and they said yes because they are a very poor outfit and need the cover price to meet their costs; so I deleted it again. It's quite an interesting magazine though.

I'm going buy it, I presume it's a similar interview to the one in his transzone blog? I don't know how I missed this one!

It's well worth shelling out for if you can because it supports such valuable work. I always end up feeling a bit guilty though because I've only bought it for one thing I like and can't then support it regularly. Same with the Big Issue.

Naughty uncharitable Val!

You're doing a good job of persuading me to buy it , I agree with not sharing the link i had a similar dilemma with META magazine.

I think it would be above and beyond the call of duty to buy transliving magazine regularly just to be nice. I do tend to buy the Big Issue because our local seller looks very frail though. I bet they really lost out when the price went over two quid, because loads of people used to give them £2 and say keep the change.

Hey everyone, I've just noticed this advert promoting the Dorchester food show, I really want to go!

A food show might be quite fun anyway. I remember Luke asking people what they thought he should cook, but people only gave him a lot of smutty answers.

Oh, flippin' heck, it's light the blue touch paper and then retire time on that main forum post ...

Not from me, you understand.

Almost unbelievably spiteful and horrible. What is it with some people? Why does the very thought of Luke winning the series make them lose all decency?

Thankfully the thread has now been locked.

Not before time. Heavens. I have been spending some time in the gay marriage thread in general discussion and the contrast is unbelievable: there are posts there so charming and witty and full of intelligence (not all of them, obviously) that at times it felt like a privilege to be there. Then I would come back to the BB forum and see that thread, and it was just so petty and awful. Maybe I'm getting too old for the BB forum, with all the schoolyard baiting and idiotic point scoring. There are some lovely people there as well, but it does get a bit much.

Oh my goodness that was never going to end well, was it? I know we can't avoid subjects cropping up when they're in the public domain but that went off on some very strange tangents. I'm expecting Luke to be blamed for the death of the dinosaurs next!

Aww, sadly my ancient old pooter won't play FB videos. I wonder if it's on YouTube?

Do you mean Why Has the Gay Marriage Issue Exploded ? which has now been locked because it was "no longer at an acceptable level of discussion"?

It's too bad that it doesn't seem to be possible to discuss Luke properly; but then it's hard to think of any HM who can be properly discussed. None of the recent winners can be.

What do you mean by discuss him properly? Do you mean you can't have a full and frank discussion because the mods lock the thread or because people just turn it into a slanging match to see how many unfounded allegations they can dredge up before it is locked for going nowhere.

By the way I am surprised at you posting on this appreciation thread, I did not think you were a genuine Luke supporter although I may be wrong of course

Yes, well, it did deteriorate after I posted that.

That is absolutely true. I don't know why things have got so bad. There are nearly always a spate of 'worst winner ever' posts, certainly for Rachel and Brian Belo, but the level of hostility towards Josie, Aaron and Luke is something else. In the case of Aaron and Luke, the resentment towards the winner seems to have exploded in inverse proportion to the benefit in winning: both of them got half of the prize money, and neither of them were given anything but the most cursory attention by Ch 5 and the associated magazines afterwards. At least in the case of Josie, I can understand that those who never liked her don't enjoy seeing her on the cover of glossy magazines week after week.

I am sure we can all understand why that thread ended up getting locked; it had gone long past people criticising Luke as a housemate, and turned into, to put it bluntly, forum members fishing for dirt. And anyone polite is welcome in any appreciation thread; I have been known, for example, to post in Nikki's, though I can't remember why.

Usually appreciation threads are just that - for appreciating a particular housemate but I was genuinely wondering. I would like an honest discussion on why Luke won and to find out why certain people are so set against him that they will drag up any rumour, put two and two together and make 55 or just make allegations such as EVERYONE thought he was so bitchy or boring or both when clearly everyone didn't - because he won. However, we know that won't happen because those parties who got the other thread locked will just turn it into the same thing.

I must admit I prefer my discussions in fairly broad strokes, I can't be bothered to argue to detail as fine as a speck of dandruff on a hair on a nit on a gnat's nut - but each to his own

Now there's a tongue twister if ever I saw one!

Oh dear, some people don't let a little thing like a thread lock shut them up. Get yer armour on ladies...

To be honest, unless something really gets my goat, I prefer to leave these sort of threads to die a natural death. There are plenty of other people who are not great supporters of Luke who are illustrating other, in their opinion, far more boring winners so I'm happy to let them get on with it.

In this case, it appears that boring is exactly the same as nice - so that will do me. I can never understand those who labelled Rachel boring any more than I can understand them calling Luke the same thing - she was a lovely girl and fortunately there are plenty of people prepared to defend her against the allegation too.
