Another thread asking who is the most boring Luke or Rachel. He just doesn't give up!

Oh dear, things don't seem to be going the way the OP intended on the who is the most boring thread. It hasn't turned into an excuse to bash Luke - could it possibly be that the people who recognised the genuine goodness and decency in Rachel are also going to see at least some of that in Luke too?

I KNOW. I think Luke's rating is pretty good considering that he's fresh in people's minds at the moment. Aaron had a lot more dislike and accusations of all sorts of things to put up when he was the reigning winner. Looking positive for Luke in the long-term I think

There are a few FM's who would vote Luke as the worst, most boring or nastiest whatever or whoever he was against so if you discount them, he is doing very well. I would like to know what they see that we don't To me, Luke always comes across as nice, funny, respectuful and kind.

I am honestly baffled by it. I would enjoy a proper discussion about why they feel that way as it would be a chance to put a different point of view but they appear to have been viewing a totally different person on a totally different show

Some minimum requirements are that the discussion isn't locked or deleted, that it doesn't degenerate into sly or overt attacks on forum members, that it isn't plagued by point-scoring, game-playing, wind-ups, provocations, debating tricks, or thread-wrecking tactics, that participants don't just sit in prepared positions throwing rocks at each other, and that a good range of different views are expressed.

It should also be a genuine attempt to get to the truth (even if all that can actually be done is to outline regions in which the truth may lie) rather than an attempt to "win" or to avoid conceding even the tiniest thing to the "enemy". And there has to be a genuine exchange of views, not just people lobbing opinions and doing their best to ignore or misunderstand the things they don't agree with.


That looks more like a discussion of those forum-members than of Luke, though.

Well, it looks as if Luke's working as a chef again. It will be good for him to get back to what he knows best and is really good at - just wish I could turn up as a customer but he's too far away

Yes, he has been back at word for nearly 2 weeks now.

I'm so pleased he's moving on from Big Brother and getting back into the real world again. He'll be much happier in himself

Theoretically nice to have another twitcam promised. But it is never better than 50:50 that I can get them to work (and fight my family off the computer) and if I do I type a question so badly that it turns into gibberish and he reads it in a mysified voice then clears his throat and says, would we like to listen to something off his ipod? So probably better to leave the chatting to people who can do this kind of thing. As long as it is not people saying things like do you still speak to Luke S?

Maybe twitcams should have a FAQ bit.

Seriously, wonkey, you do deserve a medal. I hope Luke appreciates your staunch defence of him almost since the very beginning of BB. I bet not many people can prove their support from the start the way some members on this thread can.

I am happy to defend Luke - even though I feel I shouldn't have to because I seriously don't understand the dislike some people have for him - but I get sick of arguing with people who won't listen. Your persistence in the face of such refusal to listen and give Luke the benefit of the doubt over anything is truly amazing.

I don't think you could have a discussion with some of them - they would only do point scoring and name calling. I did like it that a couple of people said specifically that they were not fans but thought the attacks on him were ridiculous. I am now 100% sure that one of the attackers was previously here under a different name.

Hello btw to the anti-Luke appreciation thread scourers. I hope you are having a pleasant day. I know you will like to hear the latest Luke news, which is that he has unexptectedly grown wings in the night and is currently in a holding pattern over Manchester.

PMSL - they must lead very sad lives if they have nothing better to do. I really wonder what their problem is - so childish!

It does seem very weird and obsessive to me. I have in the past made gentle fun of uber fans, but I think it is quite endearing to collect photographs etc of someone. Being an obsessive anti-fan is unknown territory to me. Why spend so much time and energy gnawing away at the thought of someone you dislike? It would be like me starting endless threads about Kenneth Tong, and bringing him in to every argument, saying the same things over and over again. Who would? And why? There's something here I just can't quite get my head round. It's not even like the days when Jade Goody seemed to be on the cover of every magazine: you actively have to seek out stuff about Luke, as with every recent housemate. Let's see how many dislikers carefully record his Alan Titchmarsh show appearance just so they can say "Oh my god! How terrible was Luke on the Alan Titchmarsh show? Doesn't he realize his 15 minutes are over?"
