Dr Detroit saying the right things:

Quote:
“Luke is the best BB winner ever in my opinion. He's never acted like he deserved the win, and a year later is still surprised he won. He's never slagged off Big Brother and truly is available for his fans. In 4 appearances on my "Couch Potato Radio Show", he's been gracious with his time, and is just the sweetest man I know. I'm proud to call him 'friend'. ”

Wow I had no idea Luke split up with his wife?? How'd I miss that? I clearly don't come here enough anymore

It was kept as quiet and private as possible - just a short message on facebook saying that it was mutual and amicable. I see that the thread about it - with the return of calling luke 'she' - has been pulled, and let's hope we never see such a thing again.

There was a short statement put on Luke's official site so it's ALWAYS been in the public domain.

http://www.lukeandersonofficial.co.uk/news

I'm sure a quick Google search would have answered that person's question rather than start a new thread. Or why not ask in here? We don't bite!

Discussing Luke, even wildly disagreeing about him, is fair game but Becki should be TOTALLY off limits. The poor girl's had to put up with enough crap over the past year.

Of course, apologies to Cowie that you hadn't heard about it. That's fair enough. It's possible to really like someone and not know everything there is to know about them, even if that person thinks the whole world knows by now!

I agree, even during BB: except assessing what friends and family say on BB or BOTS they are not fair game.

Luke is doing an interview with Luke Marsden tomorrow on his radio show. I should try to find a link for anyone who wants to listen to a brace of Lukes.

I wish Luke A was on this years BB again.. I want a transman like him on again so I can feel like there are others out there that skew the gender norms

Aww, that 's not going to happen. I loved every minute of watching him last year (except the occasional bit when he was obviously really upset) but not because he was born female; think how awful if they had had a transgender male who was horrible, with so few of them in the media at all. At least we can see him on BOTS with the other winners on Thursday and Friday.

I met Luke A last week and he was very unpleasant to me

Surprised at this. Would you mind telling us what happened?

Really? That sounds VERY unlike Luke as he is always very nice and polite. Please elaborate as I would be interested in what he said that was so unpleasant.

I don't think it is acceptable to put something like that. You must see that no one could defend themselves against an allegation like that, since you give no indication of what happened. I have never seen anyone suggest that he has been impolite to them; I had almost thought he was incapable of it.

Nobody on the planet is incapable of being impolite. Luke's as human as the rest of us, let's not treat him like a saint. But yes, if we had more context behind Damien's accusation I'm sure we could explain what must have provoked the alleged rudeness.

I bumped into him when I was out, really excited to see him and went up and said 'Are you Luke A from Big Brother?' he replied 'Yes' and walked straight on...

To clarify where was this and was he on his own or with other people

I wouldn't consider that was unpleasant! Perhaps he was late for an appointment or maybe you were the 99th person to say that to him. Could be any manner of things. Perhaps a little dismissive but certainly not unpleasant - not in my book anyway as I have done something similar before
wonkeydonkey

Is this a joke? 'Yes' and carrying on to whatever appointment (barbers?) he was going to is not 'very unpleasant'. "Don't speak to me, you miserable worm!" would have been a little impolite.

I had heard he was very engaging and friendly with his fans so I was very surprised and quite upset by the experience.

I'm sorry if you met him in a hurry. I have indeed witnessed him being very friendly with people in the street when he is not. No one can be 'on duty' at all times though.

Not bad thanks, I've just been run off my feet, also have a ruptured disc in my back, so hoping I will survive tonight's marathon of BB

Ouch sounds painful, hopefully. BB will help you forget for a while and I don't believe in fighting, I'm a peaceful sea creature Wonkey
