Just signing in to say good luck to whoever wins tonight - but in my opinion not one of them is a patch on last year's winner

Agreed. I still smile at the memory of him winning last year. So unexpected and so brilliant all at the same time!

It's funny that the same accusations are now being levelled at Sam as they were at Luke - most boring winner, so-and-so is the REAL winner etc, etc. Same thing still applies - Sam won therefore he is the real winner just as Luke was the real winner of his series even though I admit I cannot understand what people saw in Sam to give him the title. He seemed a decent enough, ordinary lad but, to my mind, contributed almost nothing to the show compared with Luke who contributed a significant amount to his series and held the Insider group together by being a good friend to both Adam and Deana who without him would probably have had nothing in common.
I'm glad in a way that the moaners whose favourite didn't win will now have someone else to pick on instead of the gorgeous Mr Luke Anderson

No comparison imo. Sam ended up being the least dislikeable in a series with almost no really likeable people. I really went off BB14: so manipulated, so shallow and flashy and contrived all the way through, and no one to really care about. Sam will be all right. Unlike Aaron and Luke, no one appears to have told him a lot of lies about the media career he has ahead of him.
Of course that STILL makes Luke's victory all the sweeter. |

Just spotted this. You're right about Sam being the only really likeable person at the end. It's funny that there were no serious villains and no real opposing groups yet ultimately no really likeable housemates either whereas in Luke's year any one of the three left at the end would have been in with a great chance whichever year of BB they were in.
Of course that STILL makes Luke's victory all the sweeter. Wish he had got all the prize money though. I will still be gibbering about Conor being given half his prize money on my deathbed. In fact, although I am glad that Adam came out with £5000 (and a telly) I think that might make Luke the lowest paid winner ever. They got £50,000 in 2000, didn't they? Then it went up to £70,000, then £100,000, then...down again to £50,000 for Aaron and Luke. Really not fair.

The "I hate trannies" woman? What can you do? He's tried ignoring these people, reasoning with them, teasing them, fighting back, but they just seem to get off on having upset people. I tend not to get involved as it just makes people feel important if they get a lot of responses, but it's really tempting sometimes.

It proves how much of a difference Luke made to the way I see transgender issues when I find myself defending LAUREN HARRIES of all people on the main forum.
Before Luke I wouldn't even have given her a chance after the way she was on Bit on the Side previously, she seemed unnecessarily nasty on there, but having had my eyes opened to the difficulties faced by transgender people I just didn't look at her the same way. And that's thanks to Luke. He himself and his family should be very proud. |

Yes, I agree. And over the last year he has had LOADS of people contacting him on twitter (or via the youtube account) to ask for advice or share their own experiences.
Lauren's a funniosity. I'm glad Luke was there first. (And Nadia of course). I would hate Lauren to be the first transgender housemate ever; she had a sweet side, but was so odd and awkward. |

Sorry I missed your post Jean - but I voted for Luke as my favourite housemate. I don't care that he didn't win this vote because he won the one that really mattered

Anyway, I only came in here to have a rant about how badly Luke was treated by BB. I wonder why they chose to give the impression he was a pie and chips man rather than the skilled chef he actually is.

It's the way DS works though. If he'd lost out to Lauren in their head to head he would have been a DS hero. As it is, he's not that popular because he had the sheer gall to win the show. I don't know how he dared - but I'm blooming glad he did
![]() I seem to be one of the culled followers on Luke's FB. So sad

Glad he's got into the top 40 in the all housemates vote in spite of a couple of people putting him bottom. (Below Dennis!) And several winners have already been knocked out.

Yes, it is nice to see Luke nearer the top and might go further. I have never voted in this as I find putting so many housemates in order to be quite daunting but might give it a go next time.

It's really difficult though. Basically my list is divided into four parts - housemates I really didn't like (Conor and Dennis immediately spring to mind), ones who were a bit boring but ok, ones who were entertaining but not really that nice - and the lovely people like Luke - but apart from ranking Luke first and Aaron second, it's basically a bit of a lottery who goes where, I just do my best. |
