It would be lovely to read or see ONE interview with Luke that didn't mention either Luke S - who was not exactly the most important person to him in the house - or Becky and that comment. ( at him saying he wanted to walk out after that.) Lovely comment on the transgenderzone forum (which has a brilliant day by day Luke diary of the whole series for those who have not seen it): Quote:
This is one of those times, one of the building blocks that shape the transgender community and how transpeople are treated.
People often forget these things, as a media archivist I don't, when I see things happen today, I can almost pinpoint why it is possible and create a mind map of the series of events that resulted in you not being abused, imprisoned, or not having human rights. These things all add up. It may seem odd, but our community lacks transgender role-models on UK television, I am not talking about here today and gone tomorrow documentaries. I am talking about people who need to breakthrough and be a regular face in the press and media. Luke Anderson, no matter what happens tonight will be one of those recognisable faces, he last night was asked what he would do after Big Brother, he said he'd love to be a celebrity chef, or do something positive for the trans community. Well Luke you have already done it, by being a thoroughly decent bloke! One who young transboys can look up to and realise that they are not 'weirdos', they are just like Luke |

That blog's been amazing. Such a thorough review of Luke's time in the house and also a fascinating insight into how the transgender community feel badly served by the media. Normally I wouldn't care what HMs do once they leave the house but now it would seem a shame if Luke doesn't use this opportunity to promote the cause. Quote:
Now it is back to reality. My 18 year old grandson came home after playing football tonight in total agony. He had fallen and put both hands out to save himself and now has terrific pain in both elbows and cannot straighten his arms. He is at A and E now, has had an xray and daughter and son in law are with him waiting for the results. I am praying it is nothing serious as both arms are out of action and, as my daughter, said, he is a bit old for her to start wiping his bottom
HE has been offered a place at Cambridge to read Maths so we are waiting with anticipation for his A level results on Thursday. C'est la vie! Good luck for his A levels too, my niece gets her GCSEs this month - how quickly those babies grow up!Sadly I have to agree with the bit in bold. I've got a very serious problem in my life which last night reared its ugly head again and I'm feeling pretty depressed and anxious right now. Add to that I gave myself gutrot off a dodgy strawberry and, at 3.30 am this morning I managed to drop the remote control down the back of the fridge (don't ask ) and it's become obvious that Luke has stolen ALL my luck!

If it had been made clear that Luke A was a proper hotel chef and Luke S had been shown talking over Luke A, pushing him out of the way, telling him how to do stuff in the kitchen, if every little incident had been shown, everyone would have sided with Luke A. On the other hand, if you don't show that but do show Luke A complaining about him and looking daggers etc then it gives the impression that Luke A is simply jealous of someone with a better physique. Personally, I prefer personality and Luke A's is fantastic - Luke S, I'm still waiting for signs of one

Would have been better if LukeA hadn't had half his well-earned prize money cut in half by someone so undeserving, don't know what ch5 were thinking there.

He isn't in plaster - just has two slings on. The hospital had to check with their hea;th and safety officer if this was OK because, if he fell he couldn't put his arms out to save himself. My daughter said that's what caused the injuries in the first place ![]() He will be OK - it is just awkward really because it is so close to him starting Uni. |

I still think Luke S was one of the less annoying Outsiders and the one with the most chance of seeing the error of his ways but I've been looking back at some of the BB episodes (I zoned out of many of the earlier ones because I couldn't stand Conor and his cronies). Luke A is a chef, that's what he does for a living but Conor couldn't resist trying to outdo him there too. It wasn't enough to be born male, have a body that Luke A himself admitted he was a bit envious of and walking around with his top of showing off that body to all the girls, he also had to try and belittle Luke as far as the kitchen duties were concerned, pushing his way in to make meals, order food and then there was the potato task. Thank goodnesss Luke A managed to produce a potato dish that actually tasted better to Lauren so he won that one. Luke S's arrogance that he could be better at that too and the obvious rivalry between them would have led anyone with a bit of common sense pick Luke A's dish anyway to balance things up between them and give him that small victory but, judging by what was shown, Lauren was in two minds. Can you imagine how it would have made Luke A feel if he'd been beaten in that too? Sometimes in life justice and fairness need a bit of a push but I don't think Lauren had that much sense, she is very young though so I understand. It wasn't a contest between two cooks, it was another contest between two men and sometimes the cocky ones need a knock back while the less secure ones need that boost. Having said that at least our Luke won
![]() It's one of those things where editing makes a huge difference. Personally, I prefer personality and Luke A's is fantastic - Luke S, I'm still waiting for signs of one ![]() Luke S did plenty to upset Luke A - starting with virtually ignoring him for a few weeks. Also lets not forget the tug of war task where Luke S took pleasure in utterly humiliating Luke A - tossing him around that garden like a rag doll. It was patently obvious that there was a massive mismatch and it was completely unnecessary for him to behave like he was a gladiator in a fight to the death. Then there was the controlling behaviour - he had to be in charge of reading the tasks, be first to the diary room, the first into the task rooms, and as you say in charge of the shopping list (telling people what they were and were not allowed to order) and in charge of the kitchen. He implied that Luke A was sniffing around the women despite being married, when he went there with a plan to get with a female (any female) and was prepared to be seen being pleasured by that female on national television. All in all he was an arrogant, swaggering buffoon who got found out, and Luke A coming out as champion was the ultimate revenge. |

LukeA liked my comment on FB that he is sexier than LukeS (which he is)
. He simply outclasses the man in EVERY way, looks-wise, personality-wise and standing-on-a-box-wise. I loved that small victory.

Yes, not to mention it would have spared us having to see Luke A get slammed for his strained efforts to be sporting about it when asked on BBBOTS (by a well-meaning Victoria) how he felt about Conor getting half the prize. I think anyone would have struggled to find something perfectly diplomatic to say to that ...
