It's disappointing although I can see where he is coming from. (If he came straight to appreciation he wouldn't need to see any of the bad stuff on the main forum though). I suppose he is overloaded what with twitter, facebook, commitments and catching up with real life. One day maybe?

Have only just seen the bottom picture in this Daily Mail article - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...=feeds-newsxml - with Becky apparently going mad with joy at Luke's victory. Hmmmm. Well she IS an aspiring actress. Luke's "I don't care" conversation with Becky was one of my favourite bits of the series. He was like some superhero and she was like a tortoise that has been turned on its back.

It became exhausting at times responding some of the unfair comments and, by gosh, sometimes you have to stop yourself from typing the first response that comes into your head but we won.

It would be nice if he came to say thank you and to see all the support although I understand that there are lots of others demands such as FB and Twitter not to mention real life like family, friends and jobs.

Whatever he does, the response when he won and the gratitude already expressed to the people who supported him are enough. A really good guy who's continued to behave like that out of the house too. It's been a pleasure

Oh true, there are threads down there I would hate for him ever to read. I always think a housemate has to have the hide of a rhino to come into the main forum after BB; I admired Cameron for the yards of abuse he put up with, and never seemed bothered by. I once spent a couple of hours being completely flamed on the general discussion forum (which is not as strictly moderated as this one I think) and was actually reduced to tears. (Some lovely people came to my rescue and reduced me to tears again; but the forum can be a very, very rough place.)

A very high percentage of the anti-Luke posts came from about five persistent people, one of whom is either banned for life or back under a new name and much quieter. I just wouldn't; I have posted some pretty angry stuff over the years, but never picked and picked at the same housemate over weeks of BB. I tend to reach a point - as I did with Caroline this year - when I think enough is enough, and I stop saying anything negative at all.

Exactly. Not one of my favourite housemates and, judging by what she did in the house not really a very nice person BUT she is a person and I wouldn't forget that, nor that she has family and friends who care about her who could also be upset about unnecessarily nasty things or untrue allegations. Some people forget that they are talking about real people not soap opera characters. When you get someone like Luke who seemed really kind, caring and sweet then someone is making up malicious allegations about him being sneaky, sly and bitchy, I feel compelled to defend that person, not for the sake of an argument but because I want neutral readers to see the other point of view and so that any family or friends who read the comments can see that not everyone feels that way about their loved one, that someone can see them for the person they really are.

That's mostly what I did particularly over the last couple of weeks. I didn't have to see all the horrible thread titles and feel obliged to respond - all responding did was bump them .

It feels like a bit of an anti climax with the final being so rushed and CBB starting straight away. I keep expecting to see Luke A and Adam in the smoking pit and instead it's all these weird celebs.

Oh, you're right there, you have to pick your battles. If a thread is going to go out of sight anyway because there are so many similar ones or it's just not getting attention it's far better to let it go but for those that keep being revived I think it helps to put the other viewpoint - up to a certain point. There's nothing to be gained in repeating the same thing over and over to people who are just trying to get a rise out of you.

I am watching but am determined not to get completely hooked. Just got my phone bill today with only about half the phone calls and it is £156 more than usual - I should imagine the next one will be more. Luke was worth every penny but I shall not be doing it again even though I do have some favourites - mostly the older ones funnily enough

I'm waiting for my credit card bill to arrive at the end of the month (I'll have to hide it from the family as they don't know how mental I went - not that it is any of their business and I pay my own bills - but they will tease me mercilessly). I have liked other HMs in the past and have voted, but this year it's been on a whole other level, and I know I will never do this again either. There was no question for me that Luke had to win and I was going to do whatever it took for that to happen, and it's lovely to know that I am not the only one who felt like that.

As for CBB I cannot get at all enthusiastic about it. It's like they are intruders in the outsiders house.

Oh me three. I felt better because my daughter also adored Luke A so we set up a kind of terrorist cell together, quietly bankrupting the family while the men watched sport.

Still the odd negative popping up in the main forum (same people though, not new ones). I swear that the ONLY BB winners ever not to have been abused as 'the worst winner ever' were Craig Phillips and Brian Dowling; every year since then has been greeted by a chorus of moaning. At least Luke is not getting the negativity that Josie got. I would absolutely 100% say he is my favourite winner obviously.

It's a shame that UBB was two years too early, on the wrong channel, and wasted at least half the places on hopeless cases. It would be nice to see an all-winners UBB, but just BB and not CBB at all.

i'm off tomorrow (always away, I know) to do a bit of walking oop north for a few days. I need to cut the BB umbilical cord and get back to laughing at Liz Jones on the showbiz forum and getting furious about the world on general discussion. But I will still pop in here and facebook to see if there is anything cheering and I will buy New magazine even if it has someone spirit-sapping like Chantelle on the cover.

Ha ha. When Shabby came out of the BB house a couple of us on her AT had a period of mental anguish about having to buy Diva magazine to read her interview. Luckily my husband is the least inquisitive person in the world and never once asked why there was a lesbian magazine in the paper rack or why our rabbit (this is not a euphemism) was eating it.

Mine is a nosy parker and would definitely be a bit discombobulated if I brought a lesbian mag home. LOL at the bunny munching (this is not a euphemism either!).

My guinea pigs used to show a distinct preference for the pink Financial Times and would always nibble that first.
