Really? That's the first I've heard of that. Luke's F&F in his FB group have kept all their cards close to their chests when it comes to revealing his past. They've always given the attitude that anything that's discussed about Luke's transition needs to come from him and not them.

That said, I wouldn't be at all surprised if one of his coping mechanisms was posting these videos in the hope it resonated with someone else. That seems to be a big part of his attitude to life and why he did BB.

I would hope that, during the auditions, they thoroughly grilled the applicants to make sure there was nobody who would be offensively bigoted to any sort of minority HM. I do think they got it wrong with Caroline, she has very deep seated issues regarding anything to do with sex but I can imagine that during auditions she just came across a bit cartoon-like with the potential to go on the clichéd "journey". It felt to me like Caroline's prejudice against Luke manifested itself in the need to poison the Insiders' minds against him.

That's exactly how I saw it too. When she sang "The best of both Worlds" then sniggered all the way through Luke talking about how he wished he had embarked on his transition 10 years sooner than he did, she showed what a ghastly and prejudiced waste of oxygen she is.

Seems like a very sensible approach. I've said this before on here when I've seen newspaper articles saying he could now get the surgery done - it's his life and his body and whatever he does has to be right for him and done at the right time not to please anyone else. Reading up on some of the stuff is enough to make your eyes water so it's got to be well thought out in advance and done when he's properly prepared for it.

Oh, I meant to add to the above that it was very interesting reading the article. It was pretty much as a remembered - they all seemed very unsurprised by it. I noticed Adam was the one who questioned Luke the most but I think that was because he's a very open and honest person.

Yes, it was on the FTM UK forum in sub forum, titled 'the social' ( I'm unable to provide a direct link to the thread). A few people seemed to know him or recognised him from his youtube vlog. They also said that he wanted to go big brother to educate people about the trans community.

She seemed a bit screwed up, but to be fair she was more hostile to herself than anyone else. It was a bit odd a couple of days after her eviction when someone asked what her parents had thought of her BB stint and she said she didn't know as she hadn't spoken to them. She was a clear demonstration of the saying that you have to love yourself before you can show love to other people.

Slightly unexpected that he would put stuff on you tube that his father in law didn't know.

If he and Becki can get a nice place to live out of BB (good job he doesn't live in London really) it will be an excellent result, though of course he SHOULD have twice as much money to play with, dammit. I notice that on the main forum Deana is being attacked for sounding annoyed about Conor's fifty grand in a radio interview, and I thought, I bet she's no more annoyed than I am. I will go to my grave annoyed, probably longer than that.

He will get far more tangible benefits from his 50K than Conor (who is destined to waste most of his on big parties, lavish wedding etc).

It is very galling that half of what should have been Luke's 100K win was sacrificed in a cheap and meaningless stunt that had zero entertainment value. The BB producers who thought this was a good idea need their sorry a*ses kicked.

As for Deana - she has every right to be just as annoyed as the overwhelming majority of we viewers are.

Heres hoping Luke and Becki find somewhere lovely and have a very happy life there together. I wonder if he will eventually go back to his chef's job once all of the excitement has died down?

Agree with all of this, especially Connor getting £50k. I wouldn't have minded so much if it had been 10k or someone nicer had got it. A boring stunt that really backfired. The producers knew how much the viewers disliked the insiders but carried on regardless and stuck 2 fingers up at us - they need to grow up and learn some morals imo.

It would have at least been better if All the hms still there at the time had to compete in a tough task to earn the chance to go in the white room, then have to undergo more tough challenges while in there to earn the right to push the button.

It was really badly thought out.

A part of me is still glad in a way that Luke didn't get to go in there though because he might have been tempted by the button and not gone on to win the title.

That said he did say he wouldn't have pushed the button because being in the final and gaining acceptance from the public was more important for him. Think being liked has been the making of him - the 50k is a nice bonus of course

Of course Conor actually ended up £5k richer than Luke because of his agreement to help Adam out (which he thoroughly deserved).

I started watching my recording of launch night again yesterday and Brian specifically said the winner would get £100,000. They really need to change that in future series to say the prize fund is £100k, that would give them some wiggle room to pull these sorts of stunts.

The most galling thing of all is that you could win more than £45k by randomly opening boxes for an hour whilst being smarmed over by Noel Edmonds.

Absolutely Val. I think even at 100K our winners are short changed. They entertain us nightly for 10 - 13 weeks, and endure a very stressful environment for the whole of that time. Whoever wins (even if I can't stand them) deserves a bigger reward than that.

I can't remember exactly when the money was increased from 75K to 100K but it was that much as far back as BB6 when Eugene took 50K and left Anthony with 50K. That's seven years ago and the value has been drastically reduced by inflation. They are cheapskates.

They wouldn't have let him in the White Room anyway because they wanted all those nice lucrative votes for the final - the same reason they changed the rules so Adam wasn't eligible. Who would actually have voted for Conor, Scott, Sara and Luke S to win? Hardly anybody as the final results showed for Sara and Luke S. Adam and, of course, Luke made plenty of money for them by staying. It makes it even more unfair that a weasel (with apologies to the forum member with a similar name ) like Conor won half the prize money - Adam would have been much more deserving and, I'm sure, would have used it to do some good. They really do seem to be doing an excellent job of turning off the few hardcore viewers that are still with the show.

You're right, Deana has every right to be annoyed, a Conor should never have been eligible to win that money in the first place. He made her whole time in the house uncomfortable and was rewarded with 50K for no reason. It's such a shame that Luke wasn't rewarded with the full prize fund, which he deserves.

That's a good point, the producers would have wanted the three vote winners in the final. This is probably why they changed the criteria to enter the white room from least nominations this series to least votes that week, which made Adam ineligible.

I understand that Conor put his £50K to useless use: he has bought himself and his brother new cars with some of it. Can't be that much left.

To be fair, someone has to buy new cars or people like me wouldn't be able to buy them ten years down the line. Whatever Conor has bought is unlikely to be as kid-in-a-toyshop as Jay's monster-mobile last year.

I did get the last New magazine in the shop and realized why I am so unlikely ever to buy this stuff. Apart from Luke I had barely heard of a single person in it and it was full of pictures of people who had either put on or taken off weight, which is always dull to read unless they have lost 35 stone.

It seems odd now that OK used to do massive BB spreads - I remember one of Pete and Nikki that was about 20 pages of photographs. Now they have got all uppity and like to think of themselves as the royal story magazine.

I wish they'd received that much media attention this year. I'm still holding out for a 'winners story' type show but it seems unlikely .
