Definitely not. Isn't it sad that Luke (and in my opinion Aaron) won Big Brother at a time when not so many people watch? If they'd won when BB was attracting the audiences it did at its peak we would see a lot more coverage of both of them.
Again, in my opinion, they are both winners that Channel 5 should be proud of; they would have held their own against any Big Brother winner. Instead they sidelined Aaron and this year rushed straight into Celeb BB and denied Luke his Winners Story. What a bunch of chumps!

1. It was actually harder for housemates who DIDN'T get what they expected. Nadia was the best example. She won a hugely popular series by a big margin, then no one could imagine a single thing she could do in the media. She seemed to spend years kind of lurking around waiting for her big break-through. At least these days they KNOW that odds are against, which makes it less painful. 2. Although at 31 Luke is old enough to have been in BB 10 years ago, he wouldn't have been the Luke we know and love. He and his mother have both said that he was moody and difficult when he was young. It's better for him to be a much loved winner now than swap places with someone like Lee 10 years ago. (Who? Lee. I rest my case.) Quote:
Well Luke currently has 32,500 followers on twitter, which isn't shabby. Aaron at least got his winners story. Ian Symes said that due to the immediacy of CBB following on, Luke didn't get his story.
![]() We can still hope that they find something which would suit Luke - he's far more interesting and articulate than Josie imo - but it won't be the BB winner's story over a month after it finished. I do think Adam and Luke would be brilliant on coach trip if nothing else comes up.

![]() In any case, a winner's story needs a little bit of time to get footage of press interviews, meeting family and friends, photoshoots, going home etc so I think the immediacy of CBB is just an excuse. To be honest, I think they want to focus on the celeb version which is a real shame because I much prefer the civilian BB. I'm awfully glad Luke's got all those twitter followers though

Channel 5 have said that they only ever did Paddy and Aaron's winners stories (well they did only take over last year). I agree WD, I don't think one is going to be commisioned.

I know it's not looking good for a winner's story as such, once these channels have made their decisions they're very hard to budge. I've lent a bit of support to the FB campaign, signing the petition and we had a bit of lighthearted fun at C5's expense yesterday but I haven't gone as far as Emailing anyone on the matter.
I've done it because, to me, it's not about Luke Anderson the BB winner. From reading the Transgenderzone BB blog it's so obvious that the trans community is screaming out for more positive representation, especially of female-to-males. If everyone brushes Luke aside then that would be a golden opportunity lost. By speaking out to C5 I feel like I'm saying that there would be an audience for this type of personality on mainstream TV. We don't bat an eyelid about gay celebrities any more, the same should be true for transsexuals or any other minority. I've often mentioned on FB that he shouldn't wait for anyone to give him such opportunities, he should go out and make them for himself. He could put his own videos on YouTube, write a book, set up a website and so on to get across whatever message he wants the public to hear. Maybe he feels it's important to discuss his past so other transsexuals can learn from his experiences. Maybe he feels it's more important to focus on the future and show people that you can go through reassignment and come out of it a better, fully rounded person, an ordinary bloke or woman who just so happens to be trans. If his story's compelling enough, someone will pick it up and take it forward. Once the excitement of the honeymoon period settles down and cold hard reality kicks in, hopefully Luke will be able to take stock and decide how best he wants to move on. Now, exactly 1 month on from winning, he's said he's much more at ease with accepting the girl he used to be so that's a massive step forward for him. Even if he decides he'd rather not be a high-profile media personality and would rather go back to being a chef who got all he needed with his own personal victory, there are still plenty of ways he could engage with those of us who supported him and are interested in what makes him tick. |

Good post Val .I really hope he does an interview where he talks about his past experiences or gets the opportunity to answer more meaningful questions. I feel optimistic about the Meta magazine as Paris Lees has given interesting interviews in the past and has asked in depth questions.

Great post Val , FB gets a bit cluttered tbh, but have you thought of posting that there as well? |

Well I think I've made all the main points over there in one way or another. Thanks all of you for appreciating my little rant, I do feel quite strongly that it's now in Luke's hands to take the initiative regarding what he wants the public to know about him.

This AT is dying a death a bit because everyone is on facebook instead, but if anyone isn't, he is posting photographs from his photoshoot on there, and they are frankly GORGEOUS.

The photos can be accessed on Keith Crawford Photography's page on facebook. I've been looking
.Adam looks pretty fine on them too. It made me remember how annoying I found the first few weeks of BB. I thought Adam seemed like a pretty cool guy and I loved the way he talked but you hardly saw him. Watching him on twitcam that time, I don't know how they managed to shut him out of the highlights programme so effectively at first - most of the footage must have been of people at the other side of the BB house - that guy is so loud and boisterous but I was right in my judgement (as usual ) he is a cool guy.

ATs do tend to have a shelf life, sadly. I was involved in a very busy one a couple of years ago but after the series some of the key members got caught up in some nastiness from people who didn't like our favourite so they stopped posting on here and are now keeping in touch on Twitter.
A downside to ATs is that they tend to attract obsessed lurkers who are just out for some gossip they can turn against a HM they don't like. The nice thing about the FB group is it's private and everyone's been approved. So there were a couple of things that happened on there last week that I would have loved to have chatted about on here but they just felt too personal or handing certain people ammunition they could use against Luke. I'm still always looking in here though and as long as there are interesting Luke-related things to talk about I'll be talking about them! |

At the moment I still like to pop on here. The facebook group is lovely but the volume of stuff generated is huge, eg today with people sharing all their music memories. At least here we can just stick a head in and see if there is any Luke news. |
