We (well I) suddenly revert back to being giggly schoolgirls there I warn you!

I'm not above that myself, even though I'm old enough to be Luke's mum

Various ages are in the facebook group, but trust me, the ones old enough to be Luke's mum are not setting an example of maturity to the younger ones.

Woohoo! You won't regret it. If anyone in real life gives you grief over it we'll all be there to back you up.

It's unbelieveable how quickly the FB page goes - it's as bad as the main BB page was when we had live feed and the WHATM threads.

Glad you've taken the plunge Noisy Oyster. The reason I've not given my full DS name to identify myself over there is because of the personal stuff about my son that I've said in here anonymously.

Right, I get you. You've been very brave on here and given an insight that I for one would never have had without your perspective on things. Thank you

Thanks Noisy Oyster - it was good being able to give information on here from a mum's perspective because whole families are often deeply affected by something like this.

As I've said before, transgender issues are something I've never really thought about. In my time I've worked with people who were gay. Years ago there was a guy who I realised was gay from the way he spoke about the man who was alleged to be just his best mate but there was no way he could have let work colleagues know his situation, the dislike would have been almost unbearable and he would have been lucky to keep his job. I think he was always suspicious of me because he knew I guessed his secret. There was also another man I worked with a few years before that who could never have been anything but gay, he was SO camp but again one of my favourite people at the place I worked because he was just so darned nice. Transgender issues, however, are something I'd never really encountered in any depth before Big Brother and the lovely Luke A. I've really learned a lot as a result of Luke A being in BB but, whatever some people say, I looked in more depth at what it means to be transgender purely because Luke is a lovely person and he sparked my interest in the issue. He is a true inspiration to anyone going through similar difficulties because whatever he's faced hasn't let it sour him. He keeps on smiling - and what a lovely smile.

I think a lot of us feel the same way.

Maybe I should post here that Luke and Adam will be doing a twittercam tonight at 9pm, or a bit later as they're currently stuck in traffic

Have sent you a message (though saying that is against forum rules).

I was interested to hear that his two favourite housemates were Pete and Mark - both gentle people, a bit eccentric, easily knocked off balance by conflict. (Both people I liked. Thank heavens he didn't choose someone like Rebeckah whom I detest).

Thanks.

Luke was REALLY badly affected by the BMI row, saying he had to talk it over with the psychologist. It was obvious to us watching that Becky was having the time of her life getting so much attention.

I know . he mentioned on twitter last night that he watched the BBOTs episode following the BMI backlash and he didn't seem happy ( which isn't a surprise considering that the whole episode revolved around his denigrating him. Hopefully, he realises now that it was all blown way out of proportion and that he doesn't need to beat himself up about it .

You do wonder why on earth they allow comments like this to be made. Almost everyone is a lot more vulnerable than they would normally be - remember Adam getting upset the last time he was saved? - so why allow friends and family (with their own agenda) to disrupt things and give the housemates the impression that the public disliked poor Luke and felt sorry for Becky after such a 'horrid' comment - it's especially rich when you consider some of the stuff the Insiders were coming out with and the way they were conspiring together to isolate and then vote out the opposition.

As it happened, it worked out well. Everyone could see Becky was milking it for sympathy and (most people) could see Luke was genuinely upset that he may have hurt her but it could just have easily have gone the other way. Luke could have walked and enough people could have been taken in by Becky's act. What a horrid thought - Becky, Luke S, Scott and Ashleigh in the final. I wonder how many people would have stopped watching after that finale

Ooh, thanks. I'd love to see him get stuck into some trans awareness work like that, especially if it's something where the public can ask him questions. There are plenty of subjects I'd love to know his opinions on (to the point where he'd probably tell me to lighten up, haha! ) He'd be a great person for the newspapers and TV to have as a "rentaquote" whenever trans issues are in the news.

Sad to hear the psychologist had to be called in over the BMI but I'm not surprised. Being of a very similar personality, I know exactly how it feels when you can do 99 good things and 1 bad thing and the bad thing is the ONLY one that sits in your mind!
