Jeez that's one of the vilest things I've ever read! Thankfully I would trust you never to take that sort of bait.

Horrendous and totally unnecessary Wonkey. It's a shame that all the critical posters get lumped together and that Aaron has gone but I am not surprised. It makes you realise what many reality TV contestants like Aaron and Luke have to put up with.

I really couldn't stand Luke ( sorry guys
) - but just wanted to pop on here to give my support to Wonkey as the main forum thread discusssing her trolls will likely be locked or removed. We've tended to disagree on just about everything BB-related over the years but I've always enjoyed reading your posts, regardless of whether I agreed with them or not (usually not ). Anyone who sticks up for the underdog and will politely but firmly argue their case against all-comers gets my respect, regardless of whether I thought that particular underdog was worth supporting or not ( Luke, Greedy Mo etc). Good on yer Wonks - don't let the nasties get you down.

Thanks for your solidarity. We Luke supporters are very conscious of trolls and hate speech. We wouldn't want to see one of our members subjected to it, equally as much as we hate seeing Luke subjected to it.
Following this up on Twitter I was concerned to see our Queenie seems quite friendly with one of them (the one who wasn't careful in covering his tracks). I know she'd be horrified to find out what was happening but I don't feel it's my place to butt in on Wonkey's behalf. |

Blimey. Me, Patsy and Yellowlabbie all agreeing. Together at the same time. It's like Stalin, Hitler and Mussolini reforming for a Sky Arts Anschluss pact in honour of Wonkeydonkey, BB stylee.

Gawd WD I'm shocked, and dismayed at that *hugs* as an Aaron fan last year I haven't always agreed with your posts but you have always been fair and reasonable, I am very peeved that anyone should be so mean and spiteful (and I hope DS mods keep in mind your screenshot there) ![]() I was part of operation poppet last year, so was delighted he came on and did a Q&A, it was fascinating to see an inside view of the house. I was however disappointed at what I viewed as a flounce off, (even if he did say he was only here for a couple of days)

Another couple of quotes from Aaron in the DS thread 'We we're all forced to sign up to the Richard Desmond owned agency' and 'I know most hm's felt shafted by the lack of effort from the agency'. So Richard Desmond owns the agency ... hmmm. I wonder how this year's participants feel although I guess that so little came for last year's contestants that they all think it's because of the lack of interest in BB from others rather than the fact that the agency has no desire to find them work.

Here's a couple of questions rising out of Aaron's brief visit to the DS site.
Do you think the reason C5 showed so little of Luke's exploits in the kitchen and his sense of humour was to avoid the situation they had last year with Aaron being a runaway winner in the polls? We know he won anyway but do you think he would have been further ahead if they'd actually shown how funny he is not to mention the fact that from the bits and pieces I've seen of his work he is a really good chef. Another question for anyone who's still lurking here ... does Aaron's explanation of the way the Family and Friends nominations were handled explain why suddenly all the F&F had it in for Luke and especially Becky's sister's comments about the BMI thing? With Aaron I found it hard to believe that so many of them believed he was using Faye, one or two maybe but not so many and, again, with Luke being such a lovely guy I couldn't understand why all the F&F suddenly turned on him. Does BB directing them on how to nominate explain it? |

To be honest, this whole Audience With Aaron nonsense hasn't endeared him to me whatsoever. I've mentioned before I never much liked BB12 so I struggled to follow the thread because I don't remember half of the minutiae that was being picked over. So I've only read a few pages of it (mostly the fall-out) and not the specific points you're referring to, I'm afraid.
I was always very ambivalent towards Aaron from the episodes I saw, not a person I could warm to but, compared to everyone else, the least-worst winner. After this week though I'm left respecting his honesty somewhat but I can't help feeling that he always thought he was smarter than BB and now they're blanking him for being arrogant enough to think that way. So, yes, maybe his experience did turn into a bad one but it's mostly of his own making. Oh and saying that he didn't owe the fans anything just makes him go straight into my bad books! I normally really enjoy reading the comments of old HMs but there was something horribly messianic about the past few days on DSBB. After all, this is Luke's AT but we've spent most of the last page or so discussing Aaron! Not to mention the vile treatment of our beloved Donkey. I'm sure The Powers That Be wanted a more grateful winner than Aaron this time around. I think, especially after the 8-way, they could have rested easy that one of the Good Guys was going to win but I'm not sure they cared who. I rarely watched BOTS but I don't remember anyone being treated as a runaway winner, especially compared to BB8 or 11 when it was all a Brian B or Josie lovefest and nobody else was given a look in. Frankly though I think C5's priority has always been CBB and the civilian show was just a warm up. On a personal level I think BB has the potential to be one of the best things or one of the worst things to happen to someone's life. As much as Aaron's always wailing about how it ruined him and others from his year, well that's the hole they've dug for themselves. I'd much rather look at Luke and see what an amazing positive experience it's been for him. Not only did it give him that acceptance he craved, it's tested all his other positive qualities and he came out of it with his honour intact. As extremely nasty as BB13 was, especially in F&F week, I think it needed to be in order to show him at his very best. His confidence has shot through the roof, he's doing things like the photoshoots which he NEVER thought he could handle and he's opened a lot of people's eyes to gender issues which they've probably never been confronted with before. I think I can safely say Luke Anderson won't be on here in 12 months' time wailing about how BB ruined his life!

A quick message
Just wanted to pop on and say something regarding the twitter situation mentioned above.
Some tweets of mine that I made months ago (in which I called WD a goddess - as a compliment not as a derogatory statement) were dug up and RT'd out of context by one of the tweeters you highlighted above, in their petty campaign against Wonkeydonkey. As WD hopefully knows by now, I have the greatest respect for her and her posts (whether I may or may not agree with what she says all the time) and have told her so in the past. I would never become involved in such a childish and petty 'campaign' ... I find it ridiculous that grown men/women would even consider participating in such a ridiculous task, rather than either ignore the FMs they don't like or engage them in reasonable discussion over points they disagree with. Attempting to hound people off DS because they don't say what you want to hear sounds scarily like fascism. Anyway, I just wanted to ensure that WD knows this, as seeing my tweets RT'd in this fashion was the first I knew about what was going on; I am most certainly not involved in any of this. Cheers. Ali (@Muggsy14) PS: I did challenge the tweeter this morning when I found out about the RT's, a thankless task! |

My oh my,Aaron is even popular on another hms appreciation thread!! How DO things work around here???? I have worked out what FMs and ATs are (yawn at the abbreviations btw
).Anyway, short post as this is,I'm sure it will be a)dissected b)slated c)removed d)warned for being off topic.....so I will just address d......Luke A was, along with Adam,my fave to win.He is a genuine modest bloke and I was very pleased for him. There you have it,some genuine APPRECIATION for a well deserved BB winner on a THREAD As for Aaron, you can dissect, argue, disagree, disprove what he says all day if you like.....fact remains he won.He won because more people voted for him than they did Jay.People may have voted more than once shock horror. But his fan base was and remains huge, and loyal,to this day.So slate him all you like.I am being mild and moderate at the moment in my defence of a man who was not perfect, had his faults, but won over my heart anyway.I may choose not to remain mild and moderate,as over the past year,I have become increasingly sickened by the relentless need to demonise this man.Enough is enough.Cue the dissections, quotes and all the other blah...........

At one time, there would have been a lot more supporters but with poor audience figures sadly the only thing that seems to stay just as high is the number of jealous, deluded, unpleasant detractors. |

He is even more fabulous when you get to know him as well as I have through the Facebook group. A decent, funny guy who has shown real appreciation back to the people who supported him in BB and continue to do so now. I don't know if you are a member of the facebook group, if not perhaps you would like to join as there are a lot of people there who supported both Luke and Aaron throughout their respective Big Brother series. I imagine you would feel right at home. |
