Just when the coverage was all going so well ...

... why did the BBC close their Olympic programme tonight before Farah and Rutherford's medal ceremonies?

All kinds of changes were made to the schedules when Andy Murray's Wimbledon matches were on - and they can't shunt the news by a few more minutes?

It gave the impression that Jessica Ennis' medal ceremony was the only one they saw as being worth extending for.

The BBC can ruin anything to keep to a schedule. Perhaps you'll see them in the highlights programme.

Because they'd have to fill the time until tomorrow when the ceremonies are held

I suppose you couldn't just correct my misapprehension (which I didn't hear from Gary Lineker) without just being smart?

,,, and it leaves us with the fact that, somehow, Jessica Ennis's performance was worth finding time for - but the others weren't?

Erm, the other two medal ceremonies are tomorrow, that is outside of BBC's control.

It was the scheduled order of medal ceremonies - regardless of who wins.

The 100m final ceremony is not taking place in the same session as the race itself either I believe.

Don't confuse them any more than they already are.

Yes I definitely heard them say the other 2 would be tomorrow. It is often the case in athletics.

The first time using the Olympic Channels to avoid BBC's drivel has placed me at a disadvantage!

Can't believe the BBC aren't showing them tonight even though they are on tomorrow.

Suggest you get your facts right before you start spouting drivel on here.

BBC Coverage is excellent and something to be proud of, like team GB... but of course, some people just have to moan don't they....

If being placed at a disadvantage means making a tw*t of yourself then I fully agree.

It was an absolute disgrace that the BBC didn't show the medal ceremonies tonight...and also no coverage of the mens 100m final.

I made a genuine error - and thanked the poster who confirmed that this was so. I can't quite see how that means I'm spouting drivel.

The coverage is provided by the Olympic Broadcasting Services - not the BBC (and is excellent, in general) - and there are many posts on this forum instancing poor presentation by the BBC team.

Exactly, after the BBC's disgraceful performance tonight I hope ITV get the gig in 4 years, all those advert breaks will come in handy for cups of tea, toilet dashes, writing posts on here complaining about the crap coverage.....
