Tethering removed from Full Monty plans
Someone just mentioned on the T-Mobile support forums that the Full Monty tariffs seem to have been updated so that they no longer include tethering.
This page details all the tariffs T-Mobile offer. Not only is there a filter to only show tariffs that include tethering which, when selected, doe not include the Full Monty tariffs. But if you also scroll down to one of the Full Monty tariffs and click on the bit that says Unlimited T-Mobile talk/talk, texts and data on your phone, the pop-up now states that the unlimited data excludes tethering - if you click on the link below that for people who still want tethering, it merely takes you back to the tariff list, seemingly suggesting you should pick something else... |

It's for new customers only: if you have it already, you keep it.

I wonder if they will actively block it, they never bothered doing so on the full monty sim only plans.

Perhaps T-Mobile have a problem communicating the T&Cs of the Full Monty offer? This page still says that tethering is included http://www.store-t-mobile.co.uk/t-mo...FctjfAod1XUAXA

I was told it doesn't come into force until 8th August, so those T&C's are still valid.
Full Monty was always advertised as unlimited and a huge plus point was tethering. Very disappointing. |

This avoids all the problems that Three have had with people abusing tethering on the one plan. But it also disappoints customers and throws the whole 'unlimited' term discussion back out there.
Does anyone know if T-Mobile are going to introduce tethering packs or something like that for the full monty? |

None of the networks seem to consider that someone who wants unlimited data on their phone might also actually want to use tethering. |

Probably not.

I know Three have one on their new plans which don't include tethering. Can't recall T-Mobile being that strict with tethering before. So what happens when you try? |

Only Three and T-Mobile allow unlimited data? And Three allow tethering, so its not exactly none.
But in the case of Three, they only allow unlimited data with tethering on the One Plan. You can't get it on other tariffs with AYCE data, including the pay as you go option. Back in the days where all the networks had unlimited data, the same was true. You could have unlimited data with no tethering options or limited data with tethering add ons. |

So that means I'm staying with Three then.

Forgot about orange. But when i said Three allow it i was comparing full monty and the one plan.
Unlimited data with tethering not permitted. But to then have NO option to add tethering on top of that is a problem. |

I think I should have been clearer in saying that I was complaining about how the networks have:
Unlimited data with tethering not permitted. But to then have NO option to add tethering on top of that is a problem. It seems Monty is on a diet. |

You can always get a mobile broadband dongle, they don't cost that much.

Super Internet Gone..
I'm on Sim only and have been told today that the Super Internet booster is no longer available - the highest you can now get is the Extra Internet booster.
Unfortunately, while this supports tethering it is restricted to the 3.8MB speed cap. Looks like there is no way of getting your speed increased any more...

As I've said before though, I doubt T-Mobile will actively block it, they never even bothered turning tethering off the iPhone tethering on the full monty sim only, which has always had a no tethering policy.

I want to see what T-Mobile actually do to block tethering. If it's anything like what Three or T-Mobile USA do then there is 100% no way around it. If its just all in the name then people can still tether fine. Probably get cautioned for using too much of their unlimited data... |

Any inaccurate information on there will have nothing to do with T-Mobile. Quote:

Never seen it myself but I believe it basically offers users bundles priced the same as their PAYG mobile broadband service. Quote:

Looking at the online store, the Extra booster is the largest you can add to the SIM-only tariffs - however, if you select a tariff with a handset that doesn't already include data, you are still given the option of adding the Super booster. The problem with the Super booster is it's an absolutely obscene price. |
