im just poking at your funny bone but it wouldnt surprise me..

however, just traded my sons 3ds today and got a new 3ds xl and i have to say its like a brand brand new system, the original looks quite poor compared..

have tried a DS game and it looked a lot better than on the original and kid icarus, which was my bundle game looks amazing...just a bit unsure with the controls...

i have to say that people with original models should consider this, it really is superb..

roll on NSMB 2 17 august..

Judging that everyone in the world has a Wii, I wouldn't actually be suprised if Nintendo said they won't include a power cable to "keep costs low" and you'd have to buy one seperatley, or use your current Wii AC adaptor.

I wasn't sure where to put this without making another Wii U thread so this will do
I'm feeling slightly disappointed in a couple of aspects of WiiU at the moment.
The first being that although not a huge issue due to WiFi, but no Ethernet as standard and the second issue is that there's no optical out which is useless for me as my amp only has optical or 5.1 inputs and my TV does not pass through 5.1 from HDMI to its optical out.
In this day and age I would of thought these things would be essential parts of the unit.

Comment from the uploader;

At E3 there was no rumble in the wiiU pro controller...even the Nintendo reps confirmed it to us on the showroom floor...there have since been a few reports of the WiiU pro controller having rumble now...but I don't think Nintendo themselves have officially confirmed it.

Don't personally mind that at all, in fact it may temp some people to actually use the Gamepad instead, because at the end of the day there's really no reason not to.

Jesus, no rumble, no mains lead... what else?

Most people will be wanting to sell their Wii's in the same period as buying a Wii:U. Wont get as much money for the Wii without a mains lead being included.

Won't get much for one full stop. I've seen them go on eBay for less than a tenner on occasion, working too though unboxed and with only basic leads, still shocking how much the value of the console has fallen. They will probably go for a bit more in the run up to xmas but by next year it will probably be possible to get one for a fiver!

Bargain too as the Wii still has lots of great games, even if support has dried up a bit this year.

Regarding Wii U, does anyone know if it is fully backwards compatible with Wii games? And if it is, does it also include the Wii's ability to act as a Gamecube too?

Would be good if it did then you could just swap one for the other without losing any functionality at all.

Yes fully compatible with all Wii games and periferals.
No GameCube compatability with discs or controllers, but maybe a possibility of Gamecube downloads.

Where did you get no mains lead from?
Everything that's in the box is shown HERE. Although I'm pretty sure a sensor bar is not coming with the basic set and can be bought separately in a pack that contains 2 Wiimotes.

I know which pack your on about, but that is a start up pack for those people who had not even owned a Wii console before. It has 1 Wii Remote, 1 Nunchuck and 1 Sensor Bar. You can buy sensor bars, remotes and nunchucks all seperatley.

Anybody else noticed that Miyamoto isn't making many appearences for Wii U? He only appeared at the start of this years E3 for the Pikmin announcement, and that was it. When they did Iwata Asks a few weeks ago for the Wii U hardware, it was with Eguchi-san...
