Yes, I am fully aware that true racism exists. However, to me, the word just seems to be used as a weapon or an excuse these days.
And more people perhaps wouldn't be 'racist' if the word wasn't misused quite so much.

On another note, I once recall Vic Reeves calling Jarvis Cocker from Pulp 'the weed in tweed' on Shooting Stars.
Now that was hilarious to me (even though I loved Pulp at the time), but you could say that that was offensive.

From what I've ever seen of Vic Reeves, he's always coma across as a genuinely nice bloke, so give him a break!

I never said that I was jumping up and down but on national TV and I was in Vics shoes I would not of made a comment like that. I will grant benefit of the doubt. BUT you only have to look at football racism increasing to see why it gives person a hightened sense of alert. Just imagine if you were those footballers in the line of fire is all I can say.

Personal I think its a racist person that hears a racist comment when there is none meant !!

I remember standing in a long queue once and there was a black lady with her little (cute as a button) boy of about 8 mths old and another lady was playing peek-a-boo with him when he suddenly took her hat off her head , and she said (laughingly) oh you cheeky little monkey , and this other women in a very loud voice said " hey thats not right you can say things like that ETC and going into a tirade Evey one else was very confused to say the least , When the lady asked her what on earth she was talking about ,She said you "calling him a monkey"

now you tell me that .that women was not a racist she saw what nobody else even thought
