I had to look that one up. ("shaking my damn head" apparently). Laura was a good looking girl, and it is not some bizarre coincidence that Luke is a good looking man. I can't see anything especially head shaking about that.

It genuinely is a bit of a minefield. It seems obvious that Luke is a he and Laura was a she, but there are cases when this makes a sentence awkward to construct. I think we should accept all well meaning attempts as being ok and distinguish them from the horrible trolls (mostly on other online sites) who refuse to use 'he' at all.

It's a lovely article and it's obvious he is blessed with a wonderfully supportive family, which I imagine is a big part of the battle for acceptance and change

I think a lot of trans guys doubt their sexuality after transition. Being female-bodied completely wipes men off their radar (if they're into women) as they don't see themselves as the 'woman' in bed. After transition (and male-bodied), they may find they're attracted to men, but not necessarily in a sexual way. A friend of mine says he finds men attractive now, but he suspects it's partly to do with his own happiness at being a man as he has no desire to do anything about it.
I guess when you've questioned everything in your life, it doesn't hurt to question it a bit more.

I don't understand why he would 'hate' those pics* or hate to be reminded. It was only a few years ago and mentally he was the same person and he hasn't had the op yet so it's just the chest surgery and hormones that make the difference.
EDIT: *Only as much as everyone cringes at old pics.
