Viewing locked threads?

When you see a locked thread, does your curiosity compel you to view it, to see what was being said, and what caused it to be locked?

Yes it does. What puzzles me sometimes is why some locked threads have a message from DS Forum Support at the end explaining why it was locked, whilst other locked threads don't have a message from DS Forum Support at the end?

Sometimes threads are locked at the request of the thread starter, the mods don't always comment at the end of those.

Well if that was true then there is no reason why the mods couldn’t disclose that as the reason for locking a thread.

I was just reading an intensely interesting thread only to find it has been locked for no apparent reason, that shows disrespect for forum members.

No, because most of the offending posts will have been removed.

What is irritating is being in the middle of writing a long post and then they lock it before you post so you have wasted 10 minutes lol

Me too, wonder if it was the same thread
...Although, I think it is pretty obvious why it was locked...

Especially when you've also done a bit of research to back the post up.

This, it grinds my gears more than anything. Especially if you are replying to either numerous posts or answering numerous questions and you've spent ages setting each paragraph and retort out neatly and nicely just to hit the return key to find "You do not have permission to view this page...." or whatever it says

It has happened with me before, and I simply got an error message appear saying "Sorry! This thread is closed!"

Sometimes. And sometimes I can't work out just what got it locked, but then I suppose all the offending posts have been deleted.
