Looking forward to Sleeping Dogs. Shooting, racing and fighting in 1 game and all aspects look good.

Just for the record Just Cause 2 is a blinding game. It's what games are supposed to be. For the record it probably has one of the most biggest gaming worlds...possibly bigger than Skyrim? The world is just jam packed with stuff to do.

I'm willing to admit when i'm wrong and after checking out a few videos of this game being playing it does look impressive, i'm on the fence about calling it a must buy, if i can get the money together by next week i'll consider it

Sleeping Dogs Scores 9/10 by Official PlayStation Magazine

Quote:
Sleeping Dogs has scored a 9/10 on PS3 in the latest Official PlayStation Magazine UK out this week. Editor Ben Wilson reviewed Square’s open world crime game, describing it as, “the best bits of a load of games you love pooled together with intelligence and humour”.

Sleeping Dogs PS3 review quotes
In the review Ben said that, “This is the game Saints Row has spent a decade desperate to be, a rollercoaster open-world adventure set in an environment that’s fun to explore and doss about in, and packed to the brim with rousing missions, happy diversions and other amazing stuff.”

The game was originally developed for Activision as True Crime: Hong Kong by United Front before being dropped. It was then picked up by Square Enix and renamed Sleeping Dogs. The review makes a mention of the game’s troubled life and acknowledging that as a result gamers are “probably not expecting much” from the game. Ben adds, however, that, “It’s unquestionably 2012’s most brilliantly brutal surprise, and you’re duty-bound to check it out”.

We’ll post the full review when the embargo allows us
Sleeping Dogs Promoted Full PC Version

Quote:
Launching day and date with the Xbox 360 and PS3 releases, Sleeping Dogs for Windows PCs is set to ship with a stunning set of PC-specific features to bring Hong Kong island to life. With an array of advanced graphical features on-board, the Windows PC release gives gamers with the hardware bandwidth a host of graphical enhancements, hardware optimisations and support for the latest AMD and Nvidia features.

The high-resolution texture pack updates the game to a new level, bringing eye-watering detail and crisp clear rendering to everything from city skyscrapers to crumbling ancient temples. Another layer of depth is added for gamers running at higher resolutions using increased small object detail to render smaller items of the world from a far greater distance to give an incredible sense of scale and detail. In-game shadows receive a significant upgrade with support for high-resolution shadow textures, high quality shadow filters and support for Screen Space Ambient Occlusion. Sleeping Dogs features performance enhancements for both dual and quad core PC setups, enhanced performance for Nvidia SLI and AMD Crossfire, support for keyboard and mouse setup (including key mapping) and optimisations for both 3D and multi monitors on both AMD and Nvidia hardware.

Well there are probably some things better, but this is right up there.

I love seeing people admit they are wrong People seem to think that if a game does not have the might behind it, like the COD media machine, the game will be crap. Plenty of good games slip under the radar like The Saboteur, Darksiders and even Arkham Asylum. Where games are concerned NEVER listen to the media. The problem with Sleeping Dogs is that it has the stigmata of True Crime (which to be honest I quite liked). So people just think it is going to be crap off the bat.

I for one have never played a True Crime game - so I'm going in to this with no preconceptions whatsoever

I had not heard of this until yesterday - when shopto sent me an email about it. I have looked around and this looks like a right little gem. I was hoping that it had passed people by a little so it would go down in price quickly but it doesn't look to be the case - ah well fingers crossed for the price to go down quickly anyway

You'll get day before release, release day at the latest, only time they've failed me is when royal mail was striking.

This is out in the US today which means that reviews are coming in thick and fast

IGN have given it 8.5

I’m not sure why more people aren’t paying attention to Sleeping Dogs, but now that the game’s out, hopefully you won't make the same mistake. Sleeping Dogs did things that wowed me from the moment I started playing, and it never really stopped. A few finicky issues aside, Sleeping Dogs has proven itself worthy of joining the top class of open-world sandbox games revolutionized by the likes of Grand Theft Auto IV and currently topped by more recent additions like Saints Row: The Third. But don’t be confused; Sleeping Dogs does some things better than even the cream of the crop, and its story will be what keeps you focused on playing. The fact that the game happens to play well is simply icing on the cake.

Shopto dispatched mine yesterday.

On the subject of getting games early, i know a guy who runs an independent game store near where i live and he'll give you the game as soon as he gets it in stock. The problem with using him,is that he charges an extra sum of money for the privilege.IIRC he had Fifa 12 last year about a week early but he wanted 49.99 for it.

I'd rather wait and save myself some cash.
