Kates ex-colleague...
I have scanned the spoilers and can't see any mention of him, was just wondering if anyone knows what he is doing back in the square - its just there was a shifty look accross at the bookies as if he is there to try and catch Andy up to know good...or is he in just to try and win Kates affection?
By the way I am talking about the baldy copper. |

Now that Kate is set to stay in Eastenders (hope so quite like her character) perhaps she'll go back to being a cop? Or at least do some undercover work to catch Andy? I don't suppose she would be allowed back in the force though would she?

I wouldnt have thought so - it seems a shame that she left for her ill fated relationship with phil - I reckon they could of got a bit more mileage out of the character as a cop...
Didn't see Den make a call - perhaps it was - anyone know Watts in Dens safe that was close up last night? |

During the episoe where Den came back a week or so ago, at the end he showed Chrissie a wad of papers which left her speechless, and explained by saying something like, "Everyone has something to hide". In the same episode he tipped off the police about Andy's drug dealing activities.
So - I think the copper is on some investigation about Andy's activities ( note the subtle glance at the Bookies, as though he was expecting to see a trail of cocaine leading from the front door ). Den obviously has in his possession something which he can use against either Andy or Sam, such as blackmail material, or some scam enabling him to get the Vic back, which will be revealed shortly ( probably Xmas ). As to why the copper was visiting Kate..He's either going to try and use her in some way to get to Andy, or just thought he'd stop by in the hope of getting a shag. Fair enough either way. |

I had a feeling that he is either wanting to use sophistikate for an obbo so he can keep his eyes out for the boxes being taken in the front door marked cocaine or that he was just after getting in her knickers. So he must be trying to get Kate onside for something and it must be to bring Andy down...
I thought EastEnd villians had some form of code of conduct type thing - like don't grass people up, hit women, set others up to take a fall that type of thing...funny cos all of Easties villains have broken all those rules! By the way is it definate that Den gets the Vic? |

He could blend in with all the other customers getting his hair washed and cut while he keeps a beady eye on the bookies...
Do you think Sam needs to raise cash for Andy's bail? Although it wouldnt be that much would it! I dont want Den back in the Vic...Alfies doing a fine job (IMHO) |

Alfie was doing a fine job until the writers arsed up his character. I can't really be bothered with him these days. There's only ever been one landlord of the Vic as far as I'm concerned

Den - He was the Vic. I'd love to see him vaulting over the bar again to sort out some scallies. Although admittedly his knees might give out these days.
Eddie Royle?? Hardly a fondly-remembered character |

I really cant see relic Den maanging to vault the bar ever again! I would pay to see him try - maybe he could set up a pay per view webcam and charge people to watch him try....
Eddie Royle - cant remember at all....! As for sorting out some scallies - I think nowadays he would be laughed at then beaten and have his pension book stolen... |

I think mini Den and Sharon should be the vic landlord/lady and then Grant and Phil should come back with Peggy and fight for the Vic and then Sharon has a bit of the old chemistry with Grant or Phil again. I loved the Mitchells. They need a bit of that Faaamily type thing again, I loved all that.

Eddie Royle was the landlord for a brief time in the early nineties, but he was unpopular and found dead next to Arthur's Bench from a stab wound to the chest. I'm not sure if it was ever revealed who did it but there was a strong hint it was Nick Cotton.
Den can still handle himself in a rumble - Your average pub landlord learns a few tricks after 20 odd years in the game. My local publican is in his early sixties and I wouldn't want to spill his pint. I really don't think the Mitchell's are coming back - I'm pretty sure Grant isn't because he's moved onto bigger things ( supposedly ) and Phil was written out in such a way that its almost impossible to bring him back. Peggy will probably reappear at some point though |

Probably leading up to Paul's exit at Christmas:
Monday 20 December 2004: Paul becomes alarmed when two senior drug squad detectives come to speak to him. They give him an ultimatum, which Paul sees as a no-win situation...Patrick and Yolande try to hide their concerns about Paul’s strange behaviour in front of Katie but, when Patrick takes delivery of a new car for Paul, it causes a stir around the Square - people want to know where he has got the money from. Sam hands over the money from the arches to Marcus, but he wants to know where the money for the Vic is. Sam realises if she sells the pub Phil will have nothing left Tuesday 21 December 2004: Sam and Paul become anxious when they both notice an unfamiliar car in the Square. Sam assumes it’s something to do with Phil, Paul panics and thinks that the police are looking for Andy. Paul becomes happy when the clock signals that Andy will have been arrested by now on the way to his deal, when Andy walks into the Vic while he’s celebrating, he knows there’s no way out. Marcus tells Sam that Phil is leaving the UK , Sam vows to do whatever she can even sell the Vic. The Mitchell ownership of the Vic is in jeopardy. Zoë prepares for Christmas whilst Sharon and Dennis plan their future together. Thursday 23 December 2004: Paul breaks his mobile phone and is terrified that he can’t get hold of his protection team. Panicked he rushes home to collect his car keys to leave. Outside, Paul bumps into Carter, a grass, who threatens to harm his family. Desperate to help Phil, Sam considers selling the Vic to Den. Andy lends Dennis some money so that he and Sharon can disappear together, while Andy admits to Sam that he only married her for her money. |
