Too quick to criticise

when Adam and Luke A reproach Deana for saying something insensitive, or controversial to a housemate, do you think they're being a little bit hypocritical?

I personally thought that they gave her good advice.

They don't have to agree with everything Deana does or say. They are not her die-hard friends, just allies.

Well she is really bad for thinking before she speaks, so yes she can say some insensitive and controversial things. I'm not really seeing where them two do that though ??

Yes, they've done it a couple of times lately

Not at all. It's what friends do for one another. It doesn't mean they think they're perfect, or never say anything insensitive or controversial.

I see it as advice, but I can see why it would look hypocritical. They both converse with her about certain house mates whilst they are alone, but Deana takes it to their face.

I'm not so sure if friends are so blunt
I do think though that they are a lot more composed in their conflicts, than Deana right now.
I think she'd rather much more that they'd back her up,

It could be to make themselves look good. I'm a fan of Adam and Luke A, but I think they are a bit patronising towards Deana sometimes.

If Luke A and Adam are pointing out to Deana that she is being insensitive and should tone down her behaviour for her own good and shut up about the soldiers, surely similar observations made on the forum must be valid.

When Deana is drunk she needs friends to keep her from putting her foot in her mouth. Like most friends would do. They are minding her back. Imagine if they hadn't stepped in when she was goading Luke S. I like Deana a lot but that made me cringe.
Had Adam and Luke A just let her get on with it she may well have become hated or at least lost credibility as a nice person. That would not have been an act of friendship but tactical to let her discredit herself.

What she did lost her some support. Had she continued in the same way who knows how far it could have gone.
So in answer to your question no they are not too quick to remind her not to go too far or show compassion etc. It's for her own good in the end imo.

Now, that's exactly me. I'm backing Adam and Luke too but you're right, the feeling that they're patronising her and putting her down ever so slightly is definitely what I'm getting.

Yes, I've found them both quite patronising and hypocritical towards her.

Sometimes, though, as in the case of Luke S, they are right to have a quiet word.

No I thought they were trying to make her see she wasn't doing herself any favours. They were being friends to her imo.

No they are just trying to appear to be better for public consumption. It's not hypocritical it's game play. They like the rest know that Deana has a huge following and so they like the rest have a need to show Deana up in a way that bigs them up in the process. Oh lookie me I'm such a better person. Yeah right LOL.
