IAC got 9.44m (40.5%) and a peak of 10.22m (44.7%) I wonder if Christmas party season is now denting the weekend numbers? (someone on the ratings thread just suggested this) |

7.75 million watch semi-final
8m including +1, 1.89m behind Strictly. Peak of only 8.9m.
Last year's semi-final averaged 9.99m, 10.23m with +1, so it's down 2.24m and 2.23m respectively. |

I can't see what else could have taken away viewers last night?
An 'updated' round-up: 7.75m (32.4%) , +1: 246k (1.0%) * peak: 8.62m (35.4%) at 21:20 exc +1 * peak: 8.95m (36.7%) at 21:20 inc +1 And Xtra Factor: 183k (0.8%) (surely it's lowest figure for a number of years but that is obviously due to IAC). |

Not trying to be rude but there's an X Factor Ratings Thread for this
![]() But yes, that is definitely a disaster, must be the lowest rated semi-final ever. |

Only if christmas parties are from 8.00 to 9.30 nowdays. Nearly a million suddenly got home and switched on IAC. Unlikely.

Understandable, this is the first year for a long time i have stopped watching, no interrest in any of the contestants remaining and the talent level is so low this year.

Or people's voting habits this year (Melanie and Jade should have never gone out as early as they did)? It's a shame as it was a pretty good show, most of the acts performed to their best. |

Its the first time I've purposley missed an episode and am not going to catch-up. I don't think I'll even watch the final unless there are some amazing guest performers/duets.

I would think so, definitely the lowest since the Louis-Sharon-Simon years.

Why would it? Even with it being one of the lowest rated semi finals ever its still the number 2 most watched program in its timeslot.

X Factor won't be cancelled. It's not doing as well as it once was (didn't something like 15 million watch 2010's final?), but it's not doing terribly. I just think it needs a revamp, it's been going downhill since 2009 when they moved into that new studio. 2008 was the best year - it's peak. 2009 saw the rise in novelty acts (Jedward) and a focus on popularity over talent.
Simon probably needs to come back, as better as an actual judge I think Gary Barlow is. Nicole should stay, while Louis and Tulisa have run their course. |
