Why don't you go and post on the Strictly ratings thread? You never post there but you always post here, why?

You are deliberately trying to wind us up, and I've personally had enough.

You are on an unending crusade to 1) make ITV and particularly X Factor look worse than it is, 2) ignore any counter arguments and 3) annoy as many posters as possible.

I take it that you missed the ratings for the whole of last year's series, then.

There was a lot they got wrong last year IMO.

We'll just see what happens, really.

The X Factor has been on in that time slot for years, up until about two or three years ago it was getting 11/12 millions viewers a week. You can trot out all the excuses in the book, but people are just plain bored of it in my opinion.

Well 8.8 million aren't and the show has been gettin 9-9.5 million all season so no there is a good proportion who are not! Well Strictly got 7.8 million on Friday night. so were people getting bored of it then ? Never heard many talking about the ratings about that episode

Less people around on a Friday night. Strictly getting 7.8m is in line with previous Friday starts.

It still got a 40% share which is in line with the rest of the series

Must've just been less people watching TV Should hopefully see an increase tonight, if the trend continues...

Atlantis got 5.6m. Maybe the audiences overlapped (more so than Merlin)?

X Factor should easily timeshift to over 9m.”

Well I can't speak for anyone else, but this is how my TV viewing went last night:

19:00 - Strictly
20:20 - X Factor
21:50 - Through the Keyhole
22:50 - Atlantis

I never watched Merlin, so that's a possibility. Not making any excuses though - 7.8m inc. +1 is still a poor figure.

A 40% share at peak, including +1.

Suggests the share would have been about 35% on average.

It's still a poor figure, you can't deny that.

The equivalent show in 2008 timeshifted to 8.94m (overnight of 8.18m) so it'll beat that. May fall short of last year's figures though, which were re-issued a few days later. They had the Sunday bootcamp show down as 9.8m / 10.2m which turned out to be the highest Sunday rating until the final. I don't know if that applies to Saturday though.

Not true Hassan, I'm not trying to wind you or anyone up. I'm discussing the ratings just as how I correctly predicted. You should've took my words of wisdom yesterday when I correctly predicted this would happen.

Hear me out now, next Saturdays rating for Xf will be low once again. A 25min clash vs Scd will be very tough to handle.

Are you blind or something? You only seem to talk about X Factor and not Strictly, why?

I'm pretty sure you don't realise it, but the nature of your posts does wind a lot of people up. You fail to even recognise a counter argument, and ignore any comment made towards you. I asked you before why you don't post in the Strictly forum but you refused to answer.

X Factor will make up for it through timeshifting. How come you never make note of that? It's not all overnights, you know...

As Robbie says, "Overnights are increasingly irrelevant"... X Factor should be over 9m through timeshift.

You are posting in this forum, and you clearly hate the show so you cherry pick facts to suit your own argument. X Factor did rate poorly but it didn't rate any poorer than many episodes of The Voice - the ratings of which saw you orgasmic after a 20k surge...

X Factor will have a better lead-in in the form of Celebrity Chase. It won't have a dance show against another dance show! And at least people are invested in Celebrity Chase - it was easily doing 4m against Strictly's resutls on Sundays last year, no reason why it shouldn't do equally as well on Saturdays. It does decently in teatime with ratings of 2-3m, that should translate to primetime Saturday.

I'm running out of steam. I'm just going to sum this up quickly:

X Factor should have done better. End of.

Sorry Hassan, I dent mean to cause anger. I didn't know there was a Scd ratings thread until you mentioned it. I will post in it later today. As for the voice, I dont see why that should be brought up.

So so funny. Can't believe someone gets so upset about two tv programmes ..one out performing the other and then get narked off about another poster when they talk about it. Its a public forum. Not everyone had to like the same thing

Well with how the BBC have been treating EastEnders lately it would make sense

Can't see tonight getting over 9m and next week's figures will be awful with the clashes. They've done their best though, Strictly seems to be moving further into the 8pm hour every year. Maybe a bit of revenge on the BBC's part...

Awful rating, and I feared this would happen. We can't glorify a figure like that. Strictly utterly thrashed X Factor

It's called a ratings thread and they are just posting the ratings. Yes that is a low rating for this stage in the competition however it was a good show last night. Ratings are just ratings lets just move on

I don't understand why people are comparing Strictly to X Factor this year. They were not even on at the same time! apart from 5 minutes overlap

I'd be tempted to switch BGT and XF around.

Start BGT on in the first week in September with six audition shows then move to weekly live shows taking it until the end of November, airing on Sundays only to avoid Strictly on Saturday.

Then February 2015, kick off series 11 of X Factor with six audition shows, two bootcamp episodes, 2 judges houses episodes and 10 live shows (including the final) to air on Sundays taking until Mid-June

(Bit off topic but it's been used as a partial reason for XF's low rating last night, move Stepping Out to Sunday nights in January to avoid Strictly and to replace DOI in 2015)

To round-up:

7.60m (34.6%) / 7.83m (35.6%)

Despite that low rating, I have a feeling it will be a little over 9m tonight. Doesn't face Strictly for starters

The producers need to open their eyes. The length for next weekend's shows are not going to help it at all. Both shows are 110 minutes.

"The Saturday night ratings battle" has been going on for years. Not sure if we should continue it though.

If you're talking about the overnight ratings, they include ITV HD as a matter of course.
