You should care about the ratings because if it dips a lot, Itv will have no other choice but to axe it. If XF dropped to 3m, it'd be curtains for XFactor, all over.

XF averaged 8.1m (35%) and peaked with 9.5m (40%) - inc +1.
Must let out a bit of an ouch. Quite a large one actually. Not only is it lower than last week, it's down on the equivalent show last year. For comparison, SCD got 9.8m so without +1 it would have been ahead by 2m. It's disappointing. Looks like the live shows are going to be down year on year. |

I think that half the problem is that hardly any of the acts has the likabilty factor so there is nobody to really care about. They shoulsd have put Paul and Melanie through as they seemed likable.
As for tonight's show I can see that having less viewers as well. There is no suspence now that Shelley has been announced as already in the bottom two as no matter how well she performs tonight the judges will still vote her out as the sing off is never voted on that one off performance. |

OP, why make another thread about this when there was (and still is) an almost identical thread about this topic right at the top of the forums? Is this something you do regularly?

It's all about Sunday for X Factor. If that drops to these levels then worry. It hasn't and usually hits 9m at least. Clashing with Strictly doesn't help.

He has openly stated that he hates Cowell, X Factor and anything to do with it. |

It's disappointing but I've got to the point where I don't care. I've been looking at the ratings for every episode, but I think I'm going to stop now... It sort of puts a downer on the show, which is annoying because I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I'm going to leave the ratings to ITV, and the enjoyment to me
I think this series has been one of the best series period. I love the line up of contestants and judges, it's great.

Samuel why the hell do you post all this stuff in the X factor thread if you hate the show . You must have a bit of interest in the show to be posting articles about it all the time

Happy to hear this. When you get rid of talent like Melanie McCabe and Zoe Devlin, what do you expect? People don't want to sit down on a Saturday night to watch thugs like Tamera. They want people they can relate to and who can actually sing. Quote:
You are really dull. Why do you seem so concerned about XF's ratings? Do you work for them?
At least it hasn't lost half of its viewers across the series like The Voice! It's not a bloody ratings crisis - I seriously think you're trolling now. If it's a crisis, it's one the likes of Channel 4 & 5 would love to have. All you do is come in SamuelW's threads to moan at him/her for posting negatively about the show. It's a forum, we can all express whatever opinions we like. |

XFactor is currently struggling in the ratings, last night's episode averaged 7.8million viewers on Itv. This was down 1MILLION viewers from last year's first live show, 2.5million from 2011 and about 4.5million viewers from 2010. It was the fifth episode in a row in which TXFs ratings were down from last year, last years ratings at the time were being called dire.
Strictly Come Dancing on the other hand averaged 9.8million viewers, 2million more than XF! It looks like XFactor, no matter how many changes they keep making to the format and panel, is going downhill in the ratings. People who used to watch just arent interested in rewatching the show! I think they even attempted a bit of damage limitation last night with a few mentions regarding crying... I think, that, more than many issues is turning the public off in droves. I can't think of a single person I've spoken to who says... "I can't wait to watch the X-Factor tonight...it's so moving when they fall apart in front of the camera." Mercifully, last night's effort, was blub-free. Long may it continue. Rich. x |

Letting go those two as well as Paul and perhaps Brick City is coming back to bite the producer's backsides. |

SCD narrowly beat it last weekend but that's because of erratic scheduling on X Factor's part, as we all know it would have been above 9m otherwise.

If they were worried about ratings, why do they clash with SCD? I watch SCD as I prefer it and then turn over for X-Factor but missed the first 30 minutes. I guess a lot of people do this.

Do you think XF may need a shock exit or controversy?
Although, it didn't help it last year. I think they should just ditch the flash vote. |

To me all it means is 7 million people got up to have a wee or make a cup of tea or muted the ads. Why advertising is so important these days is beyond me.

It might be lower but it still peeked at 9.5m. Tonights could peek at 10-11m. ITV Won't axe it

You guys do understand these ratings are extremely unreliable? They take about 5000 households (who know that their views matter by the way, they have special boxes) and use the data from those to calculate and average for over 65million people in the UK.
I personally don't like Strictly, I enjoy the lives for X factor but I don't care which gets more ratings. Scientifically speaking, the data collected would not be reliable for some kind of social study. Granted some shows will have their true appeal reflected i.e. X factor is one of the most watched. But the figures are wildly flawed. |

The voting twist is awful. In 2010 & 2011 when they teased the twists, everybody was speculating what it would be for the whole week and it resulted in high ratings for the first live shows. They should have done another wildcard twist this year.

Ohhh Samuel tell me you didn't go to the XF forum and start an 'XF Ratings Crisis' thread
You seemed to not bother doing that for the Voice |
