Not that either, the same amount of people are still generally watching tv...if XF was getting 8 million but a 50% share then it could be down to tv fatigue
Quote:
Or as DMN said in the ratings thread it has gotten a bit stale and same old program. And as Andy23 said its going to be a program that gets 8-9m now rather then 10-12m.

ahh ok thanks. well its looking very poor, are ratings not supposed to grow lol.... im pretty bored with it tbh. i will watch till live shows but i think a lot of our favourites will be cut and we will be left with dead wood, hope im wrong tho
![]() Could the mods get this pinned, I think it's an interesting discussion .

Simon's making some changes. I wonder if this'll impact on the ratings. |

From the Ratings Thread:
Last night's show peaked with 9.4m, averaging 8.2m - the highest rating programme on TV last night (Inc+1). Not good at all for the main show. The Xtra Factor on ITV2 drew its highest audience yet this series - 1.2m, peak of 1.3m (inc+1) Thoughts? |

Bump...
This forum is bloody dead! :O Thoughts on these ratings? On a wider note it doesn't feel remotely like " event TV " anymore. Early I know, and the lives are a different story and all that but compared to the 2006 - 10 "peak" , as I see it, it's a bit flat. The panel misses Simon (as did BGT), like him or loathe him he puts bums on seats, and he ain't there. Tulisa's as actually ok IMO but I'm not sure importing Americans works ( nothing against Americans or indeed Kelly or Nicole) it's just as when I go to the US I can understand fine but do I "get" the nuances that the locals do? Also, got to be said, so far this year and last too, the talent ain't as good generally in my view. People can sing but where's the X? The interest? The controversy? |

Only just caught up on last night's show and it's a shame it was down as it was easily the best of the series so far for me. Editing much better, more focus on the singing, was fairly light and wasn't mean spirited. I really enjoyed it.

From the Ratings Thread:
ITV1's @TheXFactor was the highest rating programme on TV last night with 7.9m (8.8m peak) - all figures inc+1 Respectable under the circumstances, but as next week it isn't up against anything (both nights), I would expect them to be much better. |

What are your thoughts on the ratings over the weekend? The ratings will improve this week since the weather won't be as good. |

The weather was really good over the weekend somewhat of a drop was to be expected plus there was also the Para Olympics closing ceremony.

This thread is so optimistic. Every week the ratings are bad and there's an excuse made. It's not like the weather has never been nice in previous years and it's not like there's never been things going on. Not as many people are watching this year - it's as simple as that.

Looking at the weather this weekend, I'd be surprised if more people don't tune in. Besides, the editing is much better.

Ratings for last night from the ratings thread: Quote:
From Jenny Cummins Better than last week but still low compared to last year. Thoughts?
"ITV1's The X Factor was the highest rating show on Saturday night, with a peak audience of 10m (av 9m) - figs inc+1" From Colin Robertson of The Sun "RATINGS: 9.8 million peak for #Strictly while #XFactor peaked at 9.5 million (minus plus 1). But XF won on averages - 8.6m vs 8m." |

I think tonight we will get another series high. It is followed by Downton Abbey (not sure if that'll help) and no competition. Besides, it's the last auditions episode.

So that's the highest this series, but the same show last year got 10.8 million and 11.1m with +1, so unfortunately still down on last year, but I'm positive we'll get another series high tonight.
