Nah me neither, but I liked Brendan's sadface afterwards.

He looked like he wanted to burst into tears.

For dramatic purposes, it's great.

For get the hell away from Brendan's boy purposes, nooooooooooooooo.

Did she!! i think i didn't listen during that bit cause i as soon as i saw doug had found her i knew they'd be some annoying conversation where amy would say something along those lines. possibly doug knows in the back of his head who ste really wants

And yeah. Cannot stand Doug basically, he gets on my t*ts.

Not even sorry.”

It's funny you should say that, just the other night I was trying to decide whether the nice moments are always unspoiled. But there were so few to apply to my theory, I didn't get very far.

Ditto about Doug. Dreary as anything.

Yes, I'm still thinking that's where this is heading. It's too cliched not to happen. Keeping Ste away from the kids today and almost missing them was a cliche, the spoiler about Dodger having to rush to stop Texas going to Australia is a cliche, Jubilee week was - it's how they roll.

I wish it wasn't, but it is.

Oof, I feel so annoyed when I think about where this is heading.

So are we thinking Doug's parents turn up before Ste goes off to Brendan, or after?

Cos like, after tonight I can't think why Ste would be all "Yer dunt understand meh, Dougehh!" cos he looked pretty understanding tonight, despite the "POLICE STATION, STEEEE!" fiasco.

Unless he's, again, more concerned over the deli and Ste's tired of it.

My fear too.

His face was what I loved about it.

He genuinely looked a bit gutted all the way through and even his attempt at being a smartarse wasn't... him properly being a smartarse.

Plus I just liked another hint that Amy seems to get him, even if she doesn't like him. Plus it called back their mutual respect thing.

God, yeah, hearing Brendan say "Ste" really annoyed me.

I just didn't like it, me.

Yeah, we don't get nice stuff to test it out, do we?

Things I love that were almost unspoilered, back in the day, were the bed scenes, and really the ILY was completely unspoilered. Whereas the Jubilee week kiss was plastered all over the mags, and turned out to be rubbish.

Another thing, it looked as if Brendan was gutted that Ste wasn't leaving?

Could that be because he doesn't want Ste to get hurt or am I reading it wrong?

Emmett is great in it, but if they'd had more time to develop it, he'd have asked if she was taking the kids. I'm sure that's the next thing he'd have asked once he knew Ste was staying. And he'd have known right off that Ste would be devastated. It was just a bit too casual for me. But I still think it's great they did it, and he did actually look sort of pained that she was leaving, in a way.

This is a possibility, I think. If Doug thinks it's as easy as sticking a picture on the wall and goes about his life, I could see Ste feeling that he doesn't understand.

I think he will be more concerned over the deli in the next few days. like other said earlier it's easy to comfort a person that is clearly sad with a kiss or a hug in that specific moment but it's harder to really understand how that person feels.

I think it's likely that Doug wil underestimate how devastated Ste is, say something insensitive, and that's enough to drive Ste away.

I presume he's not aware of the arrival of Doug's parents until after, but I honestly have no idea how it'll play.

I'm watching the episode now.

Brendan looks amazing.

When he walks down the stairs in the club to find the rose.

No I thought the same, too.

He did sound a little bit ... I dunno, hopeful as much as it'd hurt, that Ste would be going with them?

I just think he'd rather everyone he loved left the village. He can't take Ste anywhere, but I think if he had to choose for Ste to leave with someone, he'd choose Amy.

ETA: Hmm, yeah. I was thinking if they have Doug act insensitive again, aren't they just basically showing how bad the relationship is?

Cos like for the last three days, it'll have been, Doug's been a tosser.

I loved the line about Brendan being the loneliest person she'd ever met, or whatever it was. Nice and poignant, especially with his reaction.

I'd actually love if they'd play up Ste's loneliness from here on out culminating in them reconnecting properly after Later.

But I realise that won't happen while Doug's around.

Hmm, that's an interesting reading, actually.

Never thought about it that way.

Yeah, I think, had they more time it probably could have been a little more developed, but frankly, to get a final scene between them at all made me so, so, so happy. They really, really deserved it.

BIB: I thought that.

I was thinking Doug's parents turn up near the end? Or at least, Ste doesn't find out about them until the end?

I didn't think that he looked gutted because Ste was leaving.

I think he looked gutted at the idea he would, especially without telling him.

I think he looked upset that Amy honed right into his vunerable spot.

I don't know, I will have to watch again but I sometimes feel that Emmett is phoning it in.

He bares his teeth, goes all mental and then gets all whispery, then he goes all shouty again.

I'm not doubting Emmetts actory chops but I need to see something different.

I know this is against the grain of the conversation but RachSFans said to PJ that I, Mrs PJBF say hello and he said aww really, I say hi back!

Anyway... as you were *toddles off to bed*

He looked phwoar, I mean seriously

I too liked the Bramy scene as it sort of rang so true, no way would they shake hands or finally decide they loved each other. Hatred to the end, BUT their mutual love of Ste a bonding moment

Oh good. I really thought he was hoping for Ste to leave but then I though I was reading it wrong as usual.

I bet he's be upset if Ste never said goodbye to him, despite everything, if he did leave.

I think Ste would say bye personally so I hope Brendan will if he leaves next week

YES. Exactly. Since it's something they've hinted at a lot this year - that he's lonely. Oh Brendo.

He didn't deny it either.

And yeah, it would be an amazing way to reunite them, but with Doug, it's unlikely. Unless they do a 'you can be around people and still be lonely' thing.

That's the impression I got from the spoilers, but I suppose it's difficult to say.

I can't remember the last time I've really anticipated an episode. I know it'll end horribly, but it's nice.
