Computer use logging software

Hello everyone

I am wondering if you can help me.
I am running a Back to work Program for people who suffer with Mental Health. Part of this course clients use the internet to search for jobs, cv's, courses etc.
I have X amount of money from a grant and have purchased 4 computers for this use. They are being used and kept at a building that is regularly used by a lot of different people, and all rooms have to be kept open for use by other people and different groups.
I am not there all the time and people who are not on the course may get access to these computers (even though they are not allowed), due to the fact I have been told i'm not allowed to lock the room. I have also been told I'm not allowed to lock down the computers with a password, even though they are only to be used when i'm there (except for an admin password)
So is there software that lets me check what or if people are using the computers and what for when I'm not there; a logging software, but not logging passwords for sites etc
Therefore if it turns out they are being used by people not on the course and for other means I can justify locking the room or locking the computers with a password. Also if someone access these computers and balls them up I can say, the repair bill is not coming out of my budget.

thanks
scruff

There is a free one HERE and one that may be more suited to your needs HERE. I have never used anything like this so no idea if they are any good.
Can you not just set up user accounts / passwords for the people who are supposed to be using the PC's ?

Edit: ... and get them to log out when they've finished.

Here's a highly rated easy to use CNET freeware prog that you can set to run in stealth mode (other users don't know it's there and they can't disable it) for Windows OS - XP/Vista/W7. http://download.cnet.com/Free-Keylog...-10419683.html

You might want to think about what you would do if you discover that someone is looking at 'inappropriate' material ~ if you know about it and do nothing you might be considered as condoning it,

thank you for all that..
I have computer user agreements written and to be signed by everyone who uses the machines.
being that im not always there, the machines may get used for other means, If they do get used I won't condone it I'll have a word with the management and say.
