So who will be the NEXT of the current soap kids (if any) to be replaced?
Either by someone (supposedly) sexier, or who can act, or both?
Corrie: Sophie - yes I know she's just been replaced, but I'm talking when she reaches puberty kinda age. It depends how the actress is then I suppose. Chesney - not likely, but you never know what might happen when he hits 12 or 13! Could do a Sonia Jackson, but we can't be sure. Rosie - This is an odd one...sometimes she seems really good and has potential, but I really don't know. I think a replacement could be on the cards if she isn't more consistent - this will depend on how she acts in her storylines in the near future, whatever they might be. How long has she been in there anyway and how old is Rosie supposed to be? Certainly compared to Charley Webb (Debbie) in Emmerdale she is appalling, but then Debbie is a bit older... David - Same with Rosie. I think if anything this actor might be getting worse, but we haven't seen him do anythnig for so long it's impossible to say now! Craig - well I think he's gone well beyond the age of being a "kid" and isn't likely to change his acting "style" much now. Which is no bad thing because personally I think he's a great actor. Shame if he's leaving, a complete waste there. Emmerdale: Victoria - I just don't have a clue. She acts too young for her age, but she is quite cute and has improved a lot (even if she stills acts ridiculously young - perhaps part of that is the writers' faults, who knows). I think we will see a turning point in a year or two which might decide what way she is heading and whether she can handle bigger stories or not. Daz and Debbie - no chance, like Craig they aren't really kids and both are fine actors if you ask me. Debbie certainly hasn't been short of storylines and is convincing enough (if a little expressionless at times), so these two won't be going anywhere. Joseph - You hardly ever see him, but he is appalling. Well done for making him well-spoken I say, it fits with his character and the school he's at, but he doesn't come across like an actor at all, I just don't think he belongs there. But as we never see him a change will probably happen in a few years yet... Belle - Well she doesn't seem to do much, and when she is on screen doesn't seem able to concentrate very well and is clearly aware of the camera crew etc. I think a replacement might be likely in a couple of years... Eastenders: Peter and Lucy - too new, they do their job well enough for now I think (I've barely seen them). Demi and Darren - They both look very promising and I think as long as the characters are there both actors will be too. Erm, I'm sure I've missed some out.. |

I think Rosie is the one most at risk because she's at that awkward age.

The one we're likely to see next will be Steven Beale (probably returning from oz as a sexy young man!)
I can't see Rosie or Sophie being replaced anytime soon, they've only been there 5 minutes. David Platt I think is too old and is established in the role and so will not be replaced, same for Demi and Darren in EE (they were obviously cast with a view to being long term). Emmerdales Victoria, Joseph and Belle I can see changing in the near future. Although, Victoria can be good so they may decide to keep her. |

RE Daz: The actor who plays him and his twin brother (the boy in Shameless) are fantastic actors and I only see them going on to do bigger and better things. Incidentally I have heard in the past that they do sometimes play each other’s roles, when one is off sick, at school etc.... - so if Daz is a bit peculiar on Emmerdale sometimes, his brother may be filling in for him.

Adam (the disputed grandchild of Ken and son of Mike) is returning soon with a new 'totty' actor.

Given time the three Duckworth grandchildren will re-emerge : Paul, Tommy and Brad.
Off course Brad was only in it as a baby. Bethany no doubt. And I wonder will Amy Barlow lock herself in the attic for four years before she is replaced! EE: nobody yet. I would be interested in seeing what some of the former child actors look like now e.g. Martin # 1, Vicky #1 and #2, Janine #1 and #2, Billy. |

I don't think Rosie will be replaced anytime soon, as the girl who currently plays her has only been in it for 4 years and she's not a bad little actress, I think she'll do well on any teenage storylines etc. Maybe that actress will leave when the character goes off to uni and then Rosie could return a few years later with a different head...
David/Craig: as previously said, these two are well-established in their roles and are both excellent actors, so I think they'll be around for a good few more years. |

I'm really tempted to press the alert button for the first time over that post. But it'd be a bit petty really even though it is disgusting.

I would find it funny in a thread where were not talking about kids. I know it wasn' about a kid but still - it's out of place on this page. Funny though.

I think the only time they'd replace David Platt is if they wanted the character to take on a sexier role in a few years. Jack P. Shepherd could suffer from Warren Jackson syndrome!

I think emerdales Debbie could be replaced, if she was to leave i dont think they would bring her back as the same character, i dont think they would do it now, but if int he future they wanted her abck they would probably do a tracy barlow kind of thing.

im not talking about now, i know she doesnt need replacing now, i mean if she left and later there was room for her character to return, i dont think they would use the same character.
